i have been on Sulphasalazine for 4 weeks now for my Sjorgrens, and have developed an enlarged lymph node on my neck? Has anyone else experienced this while taking this medication.

Yes I had this too after 3 weeks on Sulfa five years ago. I then got one on my ear bone and this was followed by a terribly itchy purple rash everywhere so I had to stop taking it.

      Hi Tumtum,

I had also been on it for 3 weeks when I noticed it. I have no rash or anything. Did your Lymph Node go back to normal after you stopped the medication.

Well I was travelling wheh this happened so I phoned my GP who said it might be a goitre due to my hypothyroydism. So I carried on taking it and then got the ear one and saw an A&E GP who thought it was the Sulfa. By the time I got home the lumps had gone down but the rash then started but I had been in some very hot weather so my GP thought was just a sunlight reaction. But when I described the lymph nodes swelling and pain he just took me straight off it. The rash took five days to clear - I've had lots of rashes but this one was spectacular so Sulfa is now listed as one of 4 DMARDs I'm allergic to. I would see a doctor ASAP with yours.
