Skin Rash

Hi All,

Hoping someone with some experience in dermatology might be able to help me. Within the past twelve months I have noticed two areas of slightly raised, reddish patches of skin on the left side of my abdomen. I am struggling to work out why they have suddenly appeared and what has caused it.

It's not itchy or painful, but it's kind of annoying me because I think it's a bit unsightly and I notice it quite often. It doesn't seem to be going away and is not temporary. I have affectionately termed it 'The Falkland Islands' because that's what the shape of it reminds me of!

For background - I am a 31-year old male with no major health problems, however there is a strong family history of psoriasis from my maternal side espc. with my grandfather but I've luckily never experienced it at any point in my lifetime thus far and just wondering if this looks like psoriasis to any of you?

Thanks in Advance for any help or tips!

    Rash: Care Instructions

Wash the area with water only. ...

Put cold, wet cloths on the rash to reduce itching.

Keep cool, and stay out of the sun.

Leave the rash open to the air as much of the time as possible.

Sometimes petroleum jelly (Vaseline) can help relieve the discomfort caused by a rash
