SKIPPED BEATS

Hello all,
Hope you all are feeling better. I have other posts but thought I would just put this one out there. I have had pvc's for years with a break of a few months and then on for a couple of months daily. Have been diagnosed with Right Bundle Branch Block (some sort of disruption in electrical system of heart) a couple of years ago and don't know if this is related to pvc's. Had pvc's long before . Said rbbb is very common and doesn't need treatment. Many years ago I was also diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse but my echo in 2019 showed to prolapse. I don't understand how it could disappear. Maybe results read incorrectly. Another thing my doctor says my pvc's are caused by anxiety which I don't believe. Occasionally I take klonopin and it does help the anxiety but I am afraid to take it because doctor says it can become addictive. I just don't know what to do and wonder if any of you have any of the bizzare things going on. Hate to be a pest about this but I am frightened all the time. Thank you for your support.

hi! i,m very similar in health to you except have SVT. i was diagnosed with heart block a couple of years ago. i was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse yet when i had a monitor for a week the result said nothing apart from it was satisfactory. all different cardiologists so i,m wondering what is the truth. i have constant ectopic beats and am on Bisoprolol. i get very lightheaded sometimes and onder if this is to do with the heartblock which is an electrical problem.

Hi Ann,
Thank you for your response. It is so confusing to not know what is causing these skipped beats. I have had them all day for the past two months. Wtg for result of holter monitor. Stress test was normal but am sure skipped beats were visible to doctor. He then told me to exercise 30 minutes a day. I'm afraid to exercise but I do. I have been on metoprolol for at least twenty years to I am confident to say that it doesn't do the trick. I am always frightened and wish I could overcome the fear. How does MVP disappear. Thank you again and stay safe. Rose

As I said elsewhere, anxiety is a recurring factor (for some) but if you don't believe that anxiety is a problem it seems unlikely you have taken it seriously and just dip in and out of doing anything about it.
Have your circumstances changed markedly that could raise your anxiety levels? Has your diet changed for instance or moved to a different area or had relationship difficulties etc etc? Has Covid caused more than normal difficulties?
If nothing else has notably changed would it do any harm to concentrate on the anxiety factor for say 3 months with some sort of relaxation course or one of yoga?

Well, your doctor is correct about the benzo
A few years ago. I was but on klonopin for what my doctor thought was anxiety.
I had been taking biso for my tachycardia. When I went for an attempted abalation , I was told to just stop the biso 5 days prior to the ablation.
What I didnt realize is that the anxiety I was feeling was withdrawal from the biso. But the doctor said it was anxiety. So I went on the benzo..Worst decision of my life. I took a low dose of klonopin ( there really is not a low dose to this crap). I took it for 18 months. Big mistake. I then had to slowly wean off it. It took about 6 months to slowly decrease this dose. I went through hell. And even after finally stopping it, I went through protracted withdrawal for over a year.
If I knew then what I know now !!!!!
Please be careful with the benzo.
Have you ever researched magnesium for your palps?,
I have been taking magnesium glycinate, and it has made a world of difference with my flutters. It doesnt help with my tachycardia, but it sure helps those flutters I get. I take it at bedtime and I have amazing sleeps

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I do agree about klonopin. I took one .5mg yesterday and it helped but don't want to take another. I am on magnesium citrate - 200 mg a day - but don't notice any difference. I tried to get the glycinate but need a gummy because the tablets are too large and difficult to swallow. I keep looking though. I understand that magnesium pidolate or taurate are good for the heart but can't find them in a chewable form. If you know of any please let me know. I think that the answer is that I need to definitely know that my heart is fine but when the dr. sees the skipped beats on the ecg and stress test I can't accept it. Thank yo for your interest. Have a great day and keep i touch if you don't think I am a pest.
