Skipped beats after exercise

Hi.
I'm a 23 year old female who is overweight and has high blood pressure averaging 145/100. I'm currently on Losartan 50mg and it brings down my numbers to a very safe level. I've been on this medicine for about three weeks now - no major side effects that I can tell.
I have been on a strict diet and exercise almost daily since the beginning of Feburary. I've lost about 15 pounds so far. My exercises are mainly lower impact - power walks, crunches, stretching, aerobics. Yesterday, I decided to hop on an exercise bike. I did end up pushing myself a little harder than normal and my HR got up to 150. I was only on the bike for about 10 minutes then got off. A few seconds after I got off, I was having palpitations (which I normally do after exercise and sometimes when I exert myself throughout the day) then I felt my heart change into an abnormal rhythm. It sounded like: bump, bump.. pause for two seconds.. BUMP! bump, bump... and so forth. This lasted probably less than 30 seconds - I'm not really sure. I also felt a little lightheaded.
I did take my Losartan about 20 minutes or so prior to the exercising.
I had a very recent echo done that showed normal except for "trace transcupid valve regurgitation" which I was told is considered a normal finding. I've had normal EKG's and a holter monitor that showed no abnormalities. I haven't done a stress test.
Does this warrant a call to my doctor? For the time being, I'm pretty scared to exert myself to that point again so I'll be sticking with lower impact exercises.
I was wondering if maybe I took my medicine in too close of time frame? Is it normal to feel these skipped beats? It was pretty scary I have to say.
Thank you!

Hi Kati,
This happened to me after exercise and it put me off going on the cross trainer, but its possible that i over exerted myself and didnt slow down gradually. Im now on betablockers for anxiety, panic attacks, palpitations. My last ecg was normal too. I need to restart low impact exercise ie walking/brisk walking as the palps, which often come at rest, have dented my confidence. I wonder if you were exercising too close to taking your meds and maybe over exerted without cooling down too? Its great that youve had a good echo, did they say the slight valve issue can cause palps? I know mitral valve prolapse can but generally doesnt require treatment. If i were you, for complete peace of mind, id go n tell the doctor about the palps after exercise, say it scared you and youre no longer sure how much exercise is safe, and is there any change of having a stress echo? At least then youd get the reassurance you need to continue your good work with the health and fitness plan - you're doing brilliantly!

Dear kati
Well done on your weight loss hopefully that will help lower your bp and you can come off the tablets for it.
Regarding your heart rhythm it sounds like a thing called bigeminy which I have and mine can last for hours at a time. I'm told it's nit life threatening but is very uncomfortable and life affecting because I feel I cant do very much especially when it involves exertion.
By all means get it checked by a doctor but if it only lasts for a few seconds then goes on it's own they probably won't think its a concern.
Keep up the good work and lose weight for the right reason (health not because society thinks you should).
Best wishes
