The pregablin has the exact opposite effect on me, I take 300mg just before I go to bed and I'm asleep within minutes. I get about 7hrs sleep every night on it. Before I was taking it, I would lie in bed, in pain, for hours and then only get a few hours sleep. Either the pain would wake me up or I would be up and down to the toilet. I sleep right through now. I do wake up with a headache and have some side effects during the day but they are worth it for the sleep. I'm supposed to take the same during the day but they knock me out completely so I have reduced the dose. I still feel like I could lie down and sleep most of the time.

I feel during the day at work i could just fall asleep feel tired all the time. Im not sure whether im not sleeping at night because i have to much on my mind and my brain just wont switch off or whether im taking the pregablin to late at night?

I literally take them as I'm about to get into bed. I used to read for a while in bed but now I get through a couple of pages and I'm starting to drop off. I haven't slept right though like this for years. I would be up and down a couple of times during the night to use the loo but that doesn't happen anymore. I sleep for at least 7 hours. When I wake up, I'm awake, no chance of a snooze anymore. I do have the banging headache every mornning and now I have them on and off for most of the day. I also get some joint pain with them but they have reduced the original pain and with the sleep I can cope with everything else. I was hitting the pain killers a bit but been prescribed codeine now which is helping. I'm seeing the neurologist next week and scared that after I discuss the side effects he'll want me to try something else but I'm worried about trying something else that doesn't let me sleep. With the sleep I can cope with a lot more during the day. I honestly understand what you're feeling. I wasn't sleeping, was in a lot of pain all the time and walking around like a zombie. It really was getting me down and I couldn't see an end to it.

I take mine as I'm getting into bed and when I feel like I'm going to fall asleep, I turn the light off and sleep. Do you get into bed, turn the light off and let sleep come naturally or do you lie there and think? I used to try and let my mind go blank and it would work

It might be worth speaking to your dr about how you take them. I was told to take them twice a day and I was getting pain through the day so asked the pharmacist if I could maybe spread them out during the day and he said they should only be taken twice a day (I think maybe he was covering his own back and going with what the neurologist had said)

As to the headaches, I never really got them before and I have them every morning as soon as I wake up, I think they probably wake me up. I have had them on and off all day, every day pretty much since I started increasing the dose. Ithink those and the other side effects are wrth it though

Do you take your pain killers as you go to bed? If not, they might help send you off to sleep

I honestly know how you feel, I had years of it and it is the most awful thing to happen, I was starting to lose it a little bit. It doesn't help that you're in pain as well. Can I ask what you take it for? I take it for peripheral neuropathy and it has reduced the pain I was having in my arms and legs but I still get the pain in my hands and feet (the feet are the worst, they seem to have swollen too)

It's really strange that everyone taking it has different side effects

Im the same take it as im going to bed during the week i tend to go to bed same time every night so im in a rountine but when i go to bed i lie down to sleep but then my brain goes into overdrive and start thinking about everything. I was diagnoised with endrometriosis 10 years ago so suffer with severe abdominal pain but get back pain in my legs. I also had my gall bladder removed april 2014 and havent been right since suffer with bad pain so the surgeon put me on pregablin. I find they do help which regards to the pain. He wanted me to take 150 mg 3 times a day which i was doing but i was struggling at work so i just take 1 in a morning and 1 at night. It sounds like you have fibromyalga (sorry not sure how to spell it)

So do you take 75mg in the morning and the same at night when you go to bed? I only ask because that's the strength I get. If so, maybe try and take more at night, it could help. I'm going to check out fibromyalgia and ask the dr about it, I really hope I haven't, I don't think I can deal with something else

The only reason why i think it.could be fibromyalgia is because what your describing with the pain in your joints arms hands and feet. Because my mother has suffered with the same as you and she was diagnoised with fibromyalgia she also suffers from numbness pins and needles and a burning sensation on top of the pain. It might be worth mentioning to the g.p. and fingers crossed its not. I take 150mg in the morning and 150 mg at night. I feel the same as you i was diagnoised with endrometriosis 10 years ago and had 8 surgical laproscopies for it then i ended up with ore cancerous cells on my cervix had that removed twice. Then april 2014 had my gall bladder out and havent been right since. I physically cant deal with anything else feel like i have no life i think the only thing that keeps my going is my son. I need scrapping and rebuilding i think ha ha
