Every body is different. I've known people who have reactions/problems. For me, it's the only one that doesn't leave me groggy/spacey. I've been on Ambien for about 4 years. Unfortunately it's losing its effectiveness. While good for sleep, I think it's got a depressant effect. I understand it can cause memory issues as well. My goal is to go off of it, very slowly, but I will need to replace it with another medication.

I take Valerian, a herb for a good night's sleep; it's excellent!

I tried Valerian many years ago and had a bad reaction to it. I can't remember what happened, but it was not a happy experience. Perhaps now that I am older, I will try it againi.

All the best with it; to me herbs are a healthier choice than prescribed drugs.

I have used lavendar drops on my pillows and a lavendar spray in my bedroom. Pleasant, but can't say they helped me sleep. Passion flower I haven't tried.

Passion Flower's a lovely calming herb but it doesn't cause drowsiness. I take it in the day time. I'm not sure about sleep because I always use Valerian, but if you can't sleep at least you'd be relaxed about it! Lol

I have found it helpful. However, it can be tricky. Some people report, after they realize it, major memory lapses such as getting up and eating a meal in the middle of the night or driving a car, etc. Some pretty horrible "ambien" stories have been reported. That wasn't my experience, but I try try to limit my use anyway. Read about it a bit before you start using it, Shanna.
