Hi Kadia,
I take Seroquel at a low dose (50mg) before bed, and it works wonderfully with no side effects. My pharmacist and specialist physician said that I could safely take it forever, if needed. It is an atypical anti-psychotic, but don't let that scare you. At low doses, 100mg and under, it is prescribed for sleep. You may want to discuss this option with your doctor.

Hey Kadia82237! Thanks for sharing! I know all too well how frustrated you must be. I've been dealing with insomnia since I was 45. I'm now 48 and I still suffer with it. Sometimes, if I wear a sleep eye mask and listen to white noise, I'll fall asleep a little faster, but I never sleep all the way through the night. I've been considering melatonin, but I haven't tried that yet.
Just like you, I explained to my GP that I was having perimenopause symptoms and after blood work, she eliminated the possibilities. So, I went to see my OB-GYN doctor and after blood work she confirmed that I have actually gone through menopause. My FSH numbers were quite high; 41.5 to be exact. According to my results, post-menopausal numbers are 25.8 - 134.8. I can't say that I was too surprised, considering I noticed such a change in my body, years ago.
I hope you have more restful nights ahead. Hang in there!
