When I woke up I couldn't feel my legs because of the anesthesia. A few minutes later started to feel my legs. Then transferred to my room. Something happened which my wife told me that they almost lost me. Thank God I got a second chance of life and the fast acting team of nurses and doctors. It was the crash unit team and I was thinking interns. I was strongly advised about the sleep apnea. The following day I saw a doctor and was informed what transpired. My oxygen level fell it's normal state. What are the, exact numbers really can't tell much about it. They told me enough to be a goner.

Yes, thank God you got a second chance at life. I asked for narcotics for just after my surgery but no more after that. I also will not be taking any before surgery.

The thing that hangs down back of the throat hangs too long causes obstruction then in turn apnea. I could have surgery to remove it? But i remember having in my tonsils removed so I decided not to do that rt.now.

Mine was due to obesity. Now that i've lost over 100 lbs. it hasimproved to a mild apnea but still need to use my machine because i have a small lung compasity and my oxygen level still drop. I will find out tomorrow us how much when i get my sleep study results from my sleep study a week ago.
Thank you for letting me know your experience. It helps me confirm that i did the right thing of getting a follow up sleep study before my surgery.
I'm taking my CPAP in with me tomorrow to get the pressure readjusted so i can take it with me to the hospital.
Wishing you much success with you new hip.
Sincerely, Sherri

If u do not use oxygen you can put vasolen on a qu tip in the nose will help with the dryness.I was getting tiny sores just inside the nose. They were very tender.but now the are gone

The study showed i made huge improvements with my sleep apnea. I no longer stop breathing while i sleep and i didn't even use my CPAP macine in the hospital. Sutgery went excellent. Recovery went quickly. No problems there. Was sent up to my room right away.
I did spend the night just to get my pain levels under control.
I'm home now and recovering well. Am doing everything my Surgeon has required me to do. Felt great to get in my own bed and nap today.
It's amazing the rotation i have in my new hip and am doing my stretching exercises as told and walkng three times a day for ten mnutes.
Yes, i'm mouth gets super dry at night. With or without my CPAP. I'm a mouth open sleeper. LOL I have water next to my bed as well.
Thanks for checking up on me. It's on the up and up now.
Sincerely, Sherri

When I have the nose mask on if I open my mouth the air shoots out the mouth so I know right away.
Sending hugs.
