So I never stay on it and suffer for twom or three days when I do not take it

Sleep for two hours wake up sleep another two it is exhausting bit I think I am making it more exhausting and causing more anxiety. I cant get a hold of this worrying about sleep. Can anyone give me any advice I have been going through this for over a year now

Hi. Sleep anxiety is a very real thing but.... it's also in the mind. Most of us on here have all been where you are. For me, it was all about acceptance. Now i'm not saying this works for everyone because it doesn't but if you try to change the way you think about sleep things may improve. The more you worry about not sleeping the more you wont sleep. It can become a vicious cycle. I go through 'bouts' of insomnia for up to a month at a time & even though i feel like crap the next day i no longer worry about cos i know sleep will eventually come. Broken sleep is the worst. Sometimes i think it's worse than not sleeping at all. If possible try & stay away from sleep meds as they are only a temporary solution & just a bandaid for the real problem. I'm not saying don't take them at all as they do serve a purpose but not in the long run. Getting to the root cause is a much better solution. Not to mention the potential to become addicted to certain meds for sleep. Speak to a doctor & maybe a sleep study may help. CBT for chronic insomnia has had positive results but for that one you must be patient. Good luck.

thank you I am in therapy right now just had two visits so far but feel like it is helping somewhat. I never have done this before even when my daughter passed I slept. I do snoring and have had two sleep studies I only slept 3 hours with each due to anxiety but they concluded I dont have sleep apnea. Anyway I do snoring loud and still think it might be that waking me up. Sorry to rattle on but I am just so upset and tired.
