Sleep, need some advice.

Hello,

I'm struggling at the moment, sleep being the main issue. I have had a rough few years, i was diagnosed with microscopic enteritis, which in place has given me food intolerance's, after months of diarrhea i ended up being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and then at the start of this year i found out my thyroid is being attacked by the immune system.

So in general i always feel tired, i push through as much as i can though, still attempting to get my education complete since i'm still young, but my current issue is that i've been feeling especially tired and it's that i wake up feeling like i have only slept 3 hour and this has been happening when i get any amount under 9 hours.

The problem is i'll go to sleep at say 10-11pm and then be up by 7am and feel absolutely exhausted, however i cannot sleep anymore without missing school, and I've already missed a lot due to the other issues i have. I feel decent after 10+ hours sleep, this is the strange part.

Now i do understand that the gut has links to serotonin and merotonin and is essential to healthy sleep, but this is only recent and my gut problems have been about as terrible as always. It also isn't CFS, i got used to the general fatigue of waking up with CFS. Now, after normal sleep, i just don't feel like i can do anything.

So i'm left with few solutions, wait in the public system to get into a sleep specialist (months). Don't attend school and try to see if it will fix itself, as if it is a sleep debt or something. Or sleep in and miss school and attend late. Either way i'm probably going to fail due to both attendance and missing tasks, if this is going to be an ongoing issue however i don't think i'll ever be able to pass school, the system isn't very accommodating for us ill people.

If anyone has any help or advice i would appreciate it.

I wonder if you have tried Melatonin. I being old has a constant problem of sleeplessness. I took Melatonin about more than 2 yrs back. It didn't work. I changed the brand and it worked wonderfully. Being old i still continue with it just1/4 tablet daily of 3mg Melatonin. However if you are not too old, you may try it just for a few days to break the cycle of sleeplessness.

Anyway best at the younger ages is to consult the Doc. Good luck to you.

Just a suggestion but you might look into CIRS. It causes sleep problems, food intolerances, diarrhea, among other symptoms. It also causes your body to attack the thyroid. Other symptoms it causes that maybe you have and didnt realize are connected would be headaches, brain fog, poor memory, stomach problems, sinus problems, chest discomfort.
