It seems that you have given this drug a good try.  If you have nearly all the side effects plus insomnia, maybe it is time to go back to your doctor and try something different.  Be sure to stop this med slowly.  You could consider talk therapy instead of antidepressants.

Hi Teresa, have you put on weight since starting Venlafaxine? Does your partner, if you have one, say that you snore? It could be that you have developed sleep apnoea! This happened to me and I eventually saw the doctor who reretree me to the sleep clinic for tests. Sleep apnoea was diagnosed and I now wear a special mask connected to a machine and I sleep like a baby. I am currently weaning off Venlafaxine and hope that when I lose weight the sleep apnoea will go and I will no longer need the mask. Of course this may not be your problem - just a thought.

    Hello Teresa,

If you have suffered all of the Venlafaxine side affects, then that is horrible ! and as another reply suggested - it's time to see your GP again and explain the

symptoms that you have been experiencing. I am taking Venlafaxine at this time and I do have some side affects but at the moment I can cope with them.

I have tried lots of anti depressants and some I had to change within weeks because of the terrible side affects. There's a balance I suppose , weighing up the feeling better (or not) against the side affects - but yours are bad as you say.

As the other reply said come off the Venlafaxine cautiously and take professional advice about how to do this.

    Best wishes, D
