Sleep study waiting times?

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi, I've been referred for a sleep study on the nhs and I've been waiting five weeks and no appointment letter through yet. They can't seem to give me any indication of how much longer i'll have to wait. Just wondered if others had had a sleep study roughly how long you had to wait for your appointment?

Thanks

Did you ever get to the sleep study?

    I don't think I could ever sleep if I knew I was being monitored.  I KNOW I couldn't sleep....

How does this work? If you went.

      Hi,

The sleep study I had was not where people watch you or anything, it was just a wrist monitor at home that I handed in to the hospital the next day for them to look at. It didn't show sleep apnea so no further studies were done.

Hi..yes, I have learned in the last couple of days there are 2 types of sleep studies done...one is just for sleep apnea...and the other one...is more in depth..measuring cycles of sleep...specifically to tell if we are getting restful...REM sleep...then they follow up with specific treatments...and this in depth study is only done in the lab.

How are you sleeping now (obviously..possibly not well...if you are still on this page).  Will you go to the in-lab study?
