SLEEP trouble please help/suggestions

Hello friends, whenever I start to fall asleep I sort of catch myself dreaming and then I hurry up and wake up. It's as if the awake part of me is still too alert, yet my tired self is already to dream.

This frightens me because once I wake up, I'm terrified I will keep doing it again.

I eventually fall asleep but then I only get 2-3 hours because I had such trouble drifting off. It could be an OCD thing too, but whatever it is, any ideas or suggestions on how to stop the panic when I wake up as soon as I start to dream?

Thanks so much and please share similar experiences

as soon as you start to panic when you wake up start doing some long slow deep breathing. it will keep you from overthinking this and it will also keep you in the present moment. keep telling yourself that everything is OK, that you are OK , and that you are safe. and this will pass.

One thing I do every night that really helps me fall asleep is listening to white noise. There are many different types including fan sounds, ocean waves, spaceship sounds and on and on. It’s the only way I can fall asleep and stay asleep. I’ll leave it on all night. find them on YouTube.

you are going to be okay!

I did that last night, with your advice in mind.
