Sleeping after hip replacement
Posted , 114 users are following.
I'm 44 years old and had a hip replacement 10 days ago, I'm having real difficulty sleeping on my back . My recovery has been good , my wound is healing well ,I'm walking on 1 crutch now and doing exercises regularly. I'm just so tired from not sleeping at night and find that in napping in the day . Any ideas on sleeping .

Hi Anne i had an uncemented thr 2 weeks ago. I don't see my sureon for follow up vist until the 6th week. I can't manage a crutch so have a wheelie walker. I'm still leaning quite heavily on it and walking is still painful and slow. Cannot put full weight on operated leg when walking but am standing alone fine. I'm doing a few laps around the lounge room and kitchen and doing the lying down exercises and homing into the bench ones 4 times a day. I have no one to measure my progress on. From your experience do you think i am doing ok. Thanks for any feedback

16 days since op and hubby has just taken me for a drive & walk in local park. Took both crutches, but I found I could walk part of the way with only 'good leg' crutch . Things are looking up at last.

Well done marg, it makes a big difference using only one crutch, even for a while.
