Sleeping on your front

Hi does anyone else like to sleep on their front? im now 7 weeks and sleeping on my sides but woke up on my front like I used to. Was worried the turning over might be a problem but was fine. Thinking of having a massage but wondering if I'll be ok getting on and off the table.

    Hi Vicki

I am currently 12 weeks post op and was laying on my front after 6 weeks and absolutley fine. Got the all clear from my consultant after 6 weeks and his words were try to start getting back to some normaility.......

I did after 3 weeks start sleeping on my side with pillow between my legs following advice from my physio and all was ok.

    Hi Vicky,

Is your physical therapist giving you the massage?  If not, Make sure they know you had THR ...

I will, thanks Renee. Probably just back and shoulders. As I'm still not on both feet my shoulders are taking all the strain on the crutches x

I was just wondering about this. Not a belly sleeper but I would love to schedule a massage before too long!

    Hi Vicki

I am 12 weeks post op and began sleeping on my front for the last 2-3 weeks it took a while to feel comfortable and confident to do it. I am still a little cautious of turning and cant still do it on my operated side. Am sure you will be fine enjoy your massage!

Vicki - I woke up in the hospital on day 2, lying on my front, I think I gave the morning nurse a huge fright, she was asking was I OK.

I felt fine as long as I didn't move, just wasn't sure how i had got there, and how I was going to then get out of the position I was in, VERY VERY CAREFULLY. I do assure you.

Gosh I was surprised to wake up on my tummy after 7 weeks. I bet the nurse was surprised!

Vicki - being a front sleeper my entire life, I too found it very hard to lie flat on my back after surgery, hated it.

My husband thinks its strange that I can sleep like that, not being very big up top, helps I think. fried eggs a pretty good description I once heard.
