Sleeping pills/remedies while taking Sertraline

Hi I'm on 100mg of sertraline and take Nytol not herbal and find it works for me fine. Hope this helps and you get a good nights sleep soon .

Hi, was on sertraline, and one of the biggest side effects that alot of people suffer is insomnia.

A sleeping tablet for example Zolpidem would work well, needs to be prescribed, and could be taken for awhile, 10mg would do the trick, and takes around about 20mins to cick in. Also, if he is getting anxious before bedtime that he wont sleep a tanquilizer would help, something like Rivotril (Clonazepam) 0.5mg.

Taking herbal medication along with anti-depression etc meds is not a good idea, in fact its quiet dangerous. Zolpidem gives one a bit of an appitiete and rading the fridge in half a sleep mode sometimes happens. Its all about quality of life, why sweat it out when professional help is at hand, and sleeping tablets will ensure he gets some sleep. Please dont become of one these people whom thing sleeping tablets are the big hairy monster, they are widely used and prescribed by specialists. Hope this helps.

Hi, Im on 100mg seraltine I was on 50mg but needed to be increased by my GP. The biggest problem with this drug for me was insomnia I was tired going to bed but just couldnt sleep it made me so run down, my doctor prescribed beta blocs to help with the palpatations but they just made been giddy so now im on 100mg and begining to feel better. I dont know if im right to do this but it worked for me to help sleep because i suffer with allergies and when thats palying me up i take anti histamines and it makes me drowsy i tried it to see what happens and bingo helped me, but im not sure that everyone should do this. anyway if it helps in an emergancy.

I started on 100mg of Sertraline and could not sleep. My doctor said to increase it to 200mg and take 2mg Diazipan as well. Still I did not sleep. If I take Zopiclone 7.5gm my wife tells me I'm jumping about in bed all night, this still only gave me about 3 hours continuous sleep so I stopped. I have been on Sertraline for 10 months with disturbed sleep. Now sleeping in separate beds. Been waiting 9 months for a phsycological assesment for stress related Bipolar. Any reasonable suggestion will be welcomed.

 

Hi jinx. I have sleeping pills dr gave me but haven’t slept since 2.  Just been sick it’s only 4 th day I’ve been on them. Sorry on Sertaline. Any advice

was on 50mg sertraline for 8 wks, now currently on 100mg for last 2 wks. insomnia levels are unbearable.. 2 hrs sleep is good!

sleeping and or anxiety tablets have zero effect. 75mg zopiclone - nothing (yes, that's not a typo; 10 x 7.5mg), combine with 50mg Diazepam - nothing. 70mg nitrazipan - nothing, combine with 8mg clonazipan - nothing. beta blockers - nothing.

I just want some decent quality sleep.
