I broke my shoulder in March. Because of Lupus I could not get pins in it. I still have pain at night. Does anyone have any thoughts on sleeping positions or sleeping aids. Sorry to hear that you still have pain! I have always been a pretty good sleeper, so Advil or Advil PM has always helped me get at least the first few hours in. When I had frozen shoulder (still have some issues with my second frozen shoulder) I just worked over time to "teach myself" to sleep slightly upright on my back with several pillows as support. Laying on your side at night can be so painful when you have shoulder issues! For me, a bit of time with a heating pad on my shoulder and neck eased some tightness and tension before sleep too.

Sleep is important, so be sure to let your Dr/health care providers know that you are still struggling!

Hi, I have found if your are struggling for a sleeping position then try a recliner chair. I have bilateral frozen shoulder and at its worst I found the chair worked brilliantly. No chance to roll on the shoulders and surprisingly comfortable.

    Good luck.

I bought one of these V shaped pillows (sometimes sold as nursing pillows), which gave me the support to sleep in a semi-sitting position, whilst staying in my bed - much less uncomfortable than trying to sleep on either side or my back.  I added additional support on the lower part the arm of my frozen shoulder, by wrapping it in a soft, feather pillow.  Good luck!
