I have had problems with sleep for two years now. Wake up every couple to three hours. It sucks because I feel horrible and exhausted. I did start taking the sleep aide from Costco it seems to help me go back to sleep and sleep another two or three hours. At least I can go back to sleep. If you have not tried it do so it might help.It is just a strong Antihistamine and wont hurt you. I have started to ween off it and to my surprise I am still waking up but go right back to sleep. Still have not had more than three hours at a time before I awake. What I would give for a solid even 5 hours of sleep! You are in my prayers because I know all to well what hell you are going through.

Get you vitamin D levels checked, my docter tested me a few weeks ago only to discover that I'm severly deficient (my level is at a 15, it should be between 50-75). if you research Vitamin D deficiency you will find that it wrecks havoc on your sleep.

Zopiclone and all the other Z drugs were designed specifically to be non addictive, non addictive in a physical way as the benzodiazepines they replaced are. I have been taking nitrazepam (a benzodiazepine) for well over thirty years and they, too, lose their efficacy. The problem with Zopiclone and the other Z drugs is that you need to get to bed as early as possible or they simply will not 'work'. A strong antihistamine as mentioned by Phillip (?) you could take with your Zopiclone, the two are not incompatible, but measure out the days in which you do this or they, too, will lose efficacy. I would urge you not to try to procure extra medication without speaking first to your GP. If you are buying them from someone on the internet then you have no idea what it is that they contain. If you are buying them from a friend of a friend of a friend I would have thought you are being fleeced. Twenty minutes spent outside during the day will give you as much vitamin D as your skin can synthesise. Insomnia, you know, is an actual medical condition and as such requires at least five triggers your GP will, or should, elicit from your presentation yet having said that doctors these days seem to prefer referring you to an OT specialist or for the so called talking therapies such as CBT and Mindfulness. Obsessing about not sleeping will make you not sleep as I know from experience. Hope this may be of value to you.

    Regards

    John

Try drinking a glass of hot adult formula milk 1 hour before sleep. It might help. If you could drink 2 glasses a day but space it out or you end up going to the toilet middle of the night.

Google how digital devices have blue light which disrupt sleep. Try install apps like twilight to switch your phone to block blue light and see if it helps. You could also try not to look at digital devices 1 to 2 hours before bed. It does disrupt your sleep.

Soak your feet in a small basin before bed in slightly hot water. It helps too.
