I take Zopiclone 7.5mg nightly and have done so on all the different AD's I've been on. Currently on Sertraline and Pregabalin, never had any problems xx

They are suppose to be short term use but my GP agreed that the benefits outweighed the cons. As for stopping them you should wean yourself off as if you go cold turkey your sleep can be messed up for a bit. You need to tell your GP how bad your sleep is without them and that you know they're for short term but that sleep deprivation is making your anxieties worse. They can then decide the best way forward, good luck xx

I've just been prescribed (although it turns out you can get them over the counter) an old style antihistamine that makes you drowsy. They aren't addictive & you can take them as long as you like. Obviously they won't be as powerful as a sleeping tablet, but it could be useful & without any of the downsides. I took my first one last night & had the best sleep I've had in weeks, albeit I wasn't particularly anxious when I went to bed.

I've been taking it 2 weeks and it's helped me get some sleep. I came off Mirtazapine 5 weeks ago and straight onto serteraline. No pleasent, did not know what were withdrawals or side effects. I started taking 1 phenergan for a week then 2, but 3 was a. It too much so back to 1. Sometimes it makes me really tired or it can take a while to nod off. But I was literally having 1-2 hours at the most. Now getting at least 5 maybe 6 at a push. Can you take it long term, thought it was about 10 days to 2 weeks? I don't really want to stop just yet as it's still early days only been on 100mg Sert for 25 days.

Hi
I wouldn't advise you to stop taking a sleeping tablet, but speak to yr doctor. I tried zopliclone and sominex, neither were as good as phenergan. It also might be that I'm sleeping better because things are finally settling down a bit. Most I've taken is 2 for 5 days and it gave me too much of a hanger over effect. 1 seems to be a lot better but if I'm desperate I will take 2 again. I would certainly try it. I take it 45 mins before bed.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I don't think it fully has yet. I've only been on 100mg for about 4 weeks. I'm starting to have better days, but it is still up and down. I was swapped for mirtazapine to sertraline over night so was hard at the start but it is easing with time. Think it can take upto 12 weeks to fully work, but I'm making positive steps. Eating better, no alcohol for nearly 3 months bar a couple of bottles of lager. I tried counselling but got nothing from it, felt more like I was being judged so quit it after 4 sessions. I have recently started accupuncture and had 2 aeration and find it is quite good and the woman is so nice and understanding to what I have been going through past couple of months.
