Sleeping with ulcers

Posted , 6 users are following.

For five months now I have been dealing with an ulcer but did not know that until the last month. The problem that I have is not pain but getting to sleep. Just as I relax and drift off I am awakin with a flutter in my stomach and I am wide awake. This happens over and over again till I am awake with anxiety . I can handle the anxiety. Does anyone have this trouble? And what do you do about it I have tried various things. I find if I can just not feel that flutter I can get to sleep and stay asleep.

I get that fluttering feeling, I'm still not 100% sure if my troubles are ulcer or gallbladder but think its pointing more towards ulcer or so my Doctor thinks. Been in awful pain the last 6 weeks or so, thought it was diverticultis but it wasn't. Been on Omeprazole for 3 days and already pain isn't so intense so hope thats a sign its helping. But have had that fluttering feeling quite a lot during last weeks, its quite scary at times in a strange way.

What I have learned a feeling of flutter behind the Brady bone can be arrhythmia of the heart. Like a butterfly is flapping it's wings.

Have they tested you for H-Pylori? As it is the fluttering in the stomach under the rib cage that I found out was H Pylori.

Hi Torn - sounds pretty simple but take 2 DGL 5 minutes before getting into bed. These will last a minimum of 2 hours and usually allows you to drop off. Worth a bash!

Hi Torn - Bev is right, it could. be H Pylori as its just about always present with ulcers (90%). They ONLY sure way to find out for certain is have and endoscopy. Take your pulse when next you flutter to positively rule out heart. I know it does feel like heart in my case but I've never nailed it and docs just dont know..
