Sleeplessness

I would like to hear from someone who has gone thru this TKR recently. I'm going into my 10th week and don't feel much better. I can't sleep at night STILL. IF I am asleep I get jolted awake with night pain. My knee aches constantly, my footings now decided to swell, half the time I do t feel like doing anything. I go to P.T. 3x a week and exercise every other day at home. Some days I just sit and cry for no reason. Can anyone else relate to this. By the way I'm only 72.

I had TKR in July, I did have some sleep problems trying to get comfortable. I am better now, but I have numbness in my ankle and part of my lower leg, that bothers me at night now. My other knee hurts bad too!

My other knee is hurting also it's not as bad as first one, it was bone on bone. People ask if I'm glad I did it. Can't answer as I've not had a day without pain yet.

Try arthritis strength Tylenol, I find it helps a little. I still have pain pills which don't work Hydrocodone 5mg/325mg Tylenol.

I had my right knee replaced November 28th and I haven't slept since I left the hospital I tried a recliner that I rented the pain pills I take should make me somewhat groggy I'm up till 3:04 in the morning I end up crying my leg gets stiff I can't move it and then I have to get up and walk it out so I'm with you I've tried ice tried elevating my doctor said I could use a heating pad I'm having trouble bringing my leg back to do the exercises so I have no idea either what's going on but it must be common cuz you're doing the same thing as me

I know it's not a fun thing. I feel all I do is exercise, sit in the chair, go to p.t. and bed to try to sleep. I don't read like I did I was making a baby blanket for my new great grandson due in Feb. Don't do that either. I'm tired of people telling me your not even 3 months yet. They did a lot in the surgery. Uggg.

I can relate! I’m 65 y/o, 7 week post opt! Have knee pain, and thigh muscle pain. I have not slept a whole  night since my surgery! I also had  buttock pain radiating to hip! PT did a deep Massage to the piriformis muscle ( buttocks) and I got instant relief there! He said its from not walking properly! But I’m sure the tourniquet they used in surgery is causing all this thigh muscle pain! I take ibuprofen, and Dr switched me from OxyCondone to Tramandol which does not do anything !  I cry also! I hope this was worth it. 3 of my friends had it done and said this will all go away and I will be so happy I had it done! This is my second surgery to my knee in one year! Had arthroscopic Dec 1,2016 for meniscus tear due to arthritis and was not successful! It tore again with PT! So ended up with this replacement!

I'm what I call myself a young 72. I take hydrocodone 5mg/325 Tylenol but only when painful, I know I should take on regular but am afraid Dr won't give me a refill. Sometimes I regret having this done as I have not had a day or night without pain a d I am 10 weeks today.

OMG not encouraging. I have it slept in our bed since this all happened. I felt no sense both of us being awake. Every week I say maybe next week. 10 weeks not yet.😧

I hear that every day I'm tired of hearing it, patience is not my middle name. Yes pain never leaves and is so bad at night. I'm glad I'm not the only one with all the tears.😧

I Googled a lot of information and because I'm a nurse I knew what was BS and what wasn't. But there was one that was very interesting it tells you to put any type of lotion on the affected knee and then take Saran Wrap only wrap it not real tight just wrap it around once and you can do it twice if you'd like I did it last night and I swear on my grandchildren I slept for 5 hours straight I also kept it elevated so it didn't I took it off this morning and of course the stiffness after half hour came back but if I could do that at night and sleep that would be a blessing. I wish I knew how to send this to everybody. So I used lotion and then I rubbed it around on my knee and then I took a Saran Wrap and wrapped around once and I tell you this is
