Hi all I have been reading the posts on here, I also have a sliding hiatal hernia I have had this for 8 years it is said it is not large but 2cm feels large, I get acid reflux in the morning when I eat I get bloated quick and use 40mg esomeeprazole I have ibs I have been told that my lower oesophagus is only working at 50% and the surgeon will not offer the op on the nhs as he says it will make me worse.

All I have done is try to get my health back on track I am thinking of going private as for years the nhs has just fobbed me of with pills that now don't work, just wondering what your thoughts are if anybody could advise?

Andrew i would suggest you ho private. I was diagnosed with same thing 3 years ago.. hadto go private to get fast and propper service. I was given the same PpI but i dont take them as its not good it will do more damage than good. The private doctors ran some test and gave me a list of foods not to eat which will make it worst and told to loose weight. Monitor your diet.
