slight bleed

Hi

I posted at beginning of week saying that I felt quite swollen and been having random sharp stabbing pains in vagina. I am now 22 days post rectocele and have just had signs of a slight bleed, it is bright red rather than old blood. Anything to be concerned about or part of healing process? Do I need to see someone tonight if it gets worse or see it out till tomorrow and get an appointment at doctors? starting to worry.

Thanks

Thanks

If it’s only a slight bleed I wouldn’t worry too much. You are only 3 weeks post op it’s still very early days. Try not to worry, rest and don’t do too much.

      Hi Imnotadoctor

Thank you for replying and easing my mind. I have been able to rest quite well. Not lifting grandkids (heartbreaking) but one of them climbed up beside me and after a cuddle bounced up and down in my abdomen area. Maybe that has something to do with it. Will keep an eye on things.

      Thanks again

Hi I totally understand why u r worried as I was the same at about four weeks and 7 weeks or there about. I was told by a nurse that if fresh blood soaks right through a pad within one hour then go to accident and emergency.  When I had the bleeding it was not too bad so I rested with my feet up and it stopped and become just spotting. Hope you are feeling ok tonight

Hi thanks that has really settled me. It only spotting at minute. I have worried about going to bed so I could keep an eye on things. If it any worse in morning will give doctor a call.

      Thanks

That little bit is quite normal and common. It's only if it's fresh and prolonged and like heavy period. You're at the stage where the sutures are all tightening up. Some girls get more pain at 3-4wks than they got in early post-op phase.

Hi thanks for reply Robyn. That makes sense. I have been noticing more swelling and random sharp pains this week. I had my TVH in 2016 so that is why I worried so much as knew it nothing to do with a period. Today has been ok so far but won't freak now if it happens again.

      Thanks again
