Slight double vision need reassurance

So I'm 18 and for the past about 2 months I've been great handling my anxiety and other problems..

But one night about 2 and half weeks ago I was laying on my back looking down kinda straining my neck down to see the tv and it seemed like double vision kinda happened and its vertical and very faint or I noticed it. Well since then I have still noticed its there and but it doesn't disrupt anything I look at like there's still only one image but like if I look at something that's bright again a dark background say a street light at night I can Sometimes see the slight vertical double image of something but it's never been bad for me to need to stop driving or any of my daily activities, I've tried to assure my self that if it was a tumor the image wouldn't be straight up and down itd be like more side by side and such and other symptoms with it but I've been telling myself that it's just very vertical and I just might need glasses maybe because my left eye vision has been a little worse (blurry) than my right for a long time, I'm just trying to stay very positive and not think about the negatives and my whole family history is very healthy both grandparents still living and older thanks so much guys could I just maybe need glasses ?

Hi Josh. I think you should visit your optometrist for a simple eye-test for peace of mind. True diplopia (double vision) is much more obvious than the symptoms you are describing. A tumor compressing a nerve would result in seeing doubling of everything in your visual field, not of a small image within the visual field. An optometrist can give you the reassurance you need. Take care.

Yeah I will be doing that soon, it's just a faint almost double image right above somethings and sometimes it's not there but thanks a lot for the reply!

Please don't be so worried, Josh.

Your symptoms don't match the symptoms of brain tumours but they certainly warrant a visit to an optician.

I bet you DO need glasses. Let us know. Love Tess.
