Sling - TVT FEMALE SURGERY

Posted , 3 users are following.

HI,

I received much support and care from people on this site post systocele/rectocele surgery 4 months ago and  am scheduled to have a TVT-O Insertion/Cystoscopy next Tuesday and would appreciate knowing how other ladies have experienced this procedure.

I have heard the it is not such a big deal and much easier to recover from. I'm 78 years old and am hoping this will help my stress incontinence.

Thank you for reading this.

I'd love to hear from you. R

Hi Rouselle. I'd be interested to hear answers to this too as I'm having something similar shortly plus removal of ovaries. Not sure if this wll happen at the same time, I'm in the consutants hands so will ask him to do whatever's necessary! All answers gratefully received. I'm 72 by the way! rolleyes

Sorry can't really help with that particular procedure but had ovaries removed in December and had no issues from it all - actually had to keep reminding myself I had ! Though I had posterior/anterior repair at the same time so I think that took all thought but genuinely didn't even have any twinges from the lack of ovaries xx

Hi Bunky. Thanks for reply. Did they do both procedures abdominally or vaginally or mixture of both? I expect I'll find all this out at pre op appointment but I'm curious and impatient as it's not until April 21st, pre op on April 6th. Hope your recovery is doing well. Pollyanna UK rolleyes

I had my ovaries removed via laparoscopy and repairs done vaginally ! I had the 3 tiny incisions on my tummy - one belly button, one bikini line and one on the left of abdomen. I had adhesions and endo removed at the same time but consultant did tell me that the removal of the ovaries is quite straight forward xx

Thanks Bunky. I'm just being impatient and a teeny bit nervous at the moment, being 72 years young! twisted I just don't fancy having two separate ops really. My urogyne said there's one procedure which lifts vaginal vault (mine has prolapsed) from above and can done when the ovaries and cysts are removed. He also said he would have to speak to another consultant who specialises in the procedure but nothing has been said in the letters! I don't have a uterus since hysterectomy/anterior repair when I was 40 plus rectocele about 15 years ago. I'm waiting for Matron to come back! Regards Pollyanna. confused
