    Morning Lorraine,

i totally understand where you are coming from. I was off work for5 months and was unable to walk, eat, sleep and generally live my life. I woke up after the operation and for the first time in over 5 months I could touch my left thigh and foot without excuriating pain.... I could lay on my back flat and relax my whole body. I was amazed with how well it went. My husband and the nursing staff at Hull hospital could not believe the change in my being.

I had my op 8 weeks ago and do not regret it. It was my only decision and despite worries and concerns from my family.... I would say to you to have it done. Explain your fears to the surgeon and try to see the bigger picture. I have a slight residual numbness on my left foot and it is painful to sit down. But I was off my pain killers straight away after my op. Take you time and listen to the doctors. Don't bend, twist or push trolleys or the Hoover for as long as you can. The recovery is long but definetly worth it. I am going out on my bike now for short rides and it's amazing. I am back at work on half days. I was back after 4weeks. I work in a primary school. Occupational Health have been fantastic.

Everyone is different but I know of 3 people whose operation was successful.. Again, talk to your surgeon, google him on the internet and get reviews. Ok.

I hope this helps. Please contact me again if you need any more information.

    Take care, all the best....

    Morning,

no I had no pain in stomach or side. It was more in my left hip and thigh travelling down to my foot. Constant pins and needles pain. I had a burning pain in my thigh. I was unable to sleep on my left side due to the burning pain.

i really hope you get sorted. I totally understand your predicament.

    Take care
