I am 62 yr female and on 3.75 bisoprolol which I would like to reduce but GP says my bp and pulse is fine. The last time he took my pulse was about 2 weeks ago and it was 52 which which he was happy. I keep track of bp/pulse - today it was 51but often it is lower ie 47. As long as I am not dizzy GP says it is OK.

My medics say the same. I think they aim for the range you are experiencing as a sign of successful beta blockage!  However, my bpm oftern falls below 48, as low as 41, especially when lying in bed, and this is too low to feel comfortable for me.  Dizziness hasn't happened but I sometimes wake up feeling really bad - weak and ill.  Maybe the two are connected as my bp is also very low.
