I have a small black ...not brown....spot on my face. it looks like a blackhead...not a mole. it is flat and not sore or itchy. it is v small and i noticed it late last summer. i was in the sun today in the garden and its defo got a little bigger. im 52 female fair and freckly. im so worried...and cant see a dr cause of lockdown. my granny had similar 8 yrs ago and had to have it removed in day surgery. should i worry, could it be something nasty or is it just ageing?

You can do video calls with your doctor and you can show them the spot on your face. Was your gran's spot she had removed cancerous?

Hi thanks for getting back to me....yes it was. i had noticed them n thought they were black heads but got her to askthe dr about them anyway. Apparently they werent dangerous!,,,,

A video call would be tricky as its so small. not sure they would see it in enough detail. As long as i know its ok to wait a while until i can see someone .....i guess thats the reasurance i was looking for or to push for someone to have a look. wheni googled it ...it was possiblycoming up as age related. just concerned in these weird times...i guess

If you are in the UK, make a telephone or video call to your gp and ask if you can get a video appointment with a dermatologist, as they should know whether or not it is something to worry about even if it isn't really clear in the picture, they can ask questions where you can describe it. It is better to try now before lock down is over as dermatologists are not busy at the moment. When lock down is over, I suspect specialists are going to be really busy and it will be a while before you can get an appointment.
