Small bumps and fishy smell on penis

Posted , 11 users are following.

i'm a 25 year old male. A little over a week ago i noticed really tiny pimple like spots like the ones seen in the picture, except i only have them across a 2cm part of the head of my penis. i am circumcised, i don't have any smegma on my penis but that area where the bumps are seem to be causing a fishy smell. this cant be an STD or STI. i don't really have any other symptoms.

Those look like "pearly penile papules", which are so common, they're almost normal.  They wouldn't normally be related to any smell though, so you could just be imagining a change in smell.

I really doubt that im imagining the smell though, and it seems to be only coming from the spot where the bumps are.

With or without PPPs, underneath the ridge is the area of the penis most likely to smell.  It's possible to have male thrush, but it could just be normal.  Neither male nor female genitalia smell of air freshener.  If you're sure it's recent, then you could see a doctor, but I'm not sure what they'd tell you.  If you do see a doctor though, please let us know what they say.

probably a bit late lol but it just sounds like you have an infection hun. absolutely nothing to worry about and is likely to be very simply treated. Pop to the docs or your local GUM clinic (normally at a hospital, totally confidential and private no matter your age) and they will do a few simple swabs probably. You're right to be concerned about a fishy smell. It's unlikely that you're imagining it, as a fishy smell from genitals is not normal and it does normally sign post an infection. Good luck, hopefully you have it sorted by now but just answering in case anyone else had the same issue and they are concerned. xx

btw just to clear up... I'm not saying you have a sexually transmitted infection, just a normal run of the mill infection which sometimes happens and is nothing to worry about. Treatment from your GP or GUM clinic only mentioned for ease of use really. GUM clinics do not only deal with STI's at all, they just specialise in genito-urinary area. thanks.

I have literally the exact same thing going on, though my situation is on the other side. From everything I've read, it might be bacterial vaginosis from my fiancée, but I haven't gone to the doctor yet. If you haven't already addressed it, I'll reply with whatever they tell me when I go in. Side note: for me, the fishy smell is actually worse right after I shower (and I've been cleaning very thoroughly since it started). In fact, the smell goes away if I don't shower for a few days. No other symptoms

Looks like PPP to me. Of course like everyone says you need to go to a doctor to be sure. I have PPP myself and it looks similar, the smell is natural as long as it's not too pungent. Just keep it clean as much as you can
