Small cut next the clitoral hood. Is it something sinister.

for the past 3/4 months now around a week before my period (normally a few days after coming off my pill) i get a little bit of dry skin, in the fold to the side of my vagina near the clit. this then becomes mildly itchy and then one small slightest scratch takes the skin off. within three/four days its then healed and gone. its driving me insane. first i thought herpes then sat down like a sane person no im thinking its to do with hormones!?!

i've attached a picture of the cut so you can see. there is no oozing or bleeding either and it doesnt ever scab over just heals and goes and is always in the same place image

Hi, it's very hard to tell... it sounds more plausible to be linked to your hormones. Yeast is known to cause cut-like sores too... You should get it swabbed for a piece of mind.

i'm booked in the doctors for thursday but, o doubt it would be gone by then. i had an itch on the other side and the same thing has happened. it doesnt bleed. it doesnt ooze. its driving me insane. i have kept a log of when it comes and its normally a day before my period arrives (3days after i stop my contreceptive pill) they dont hurt but after reading that some peoples herpes present as this i am worried, although concerend as ive been with my partner a long time.

Hey, go to the doctor regardless of what I say, but it's 99% just yeast or bac. vaginosis. I always get those little cuts and always tested negative for everything, and no doctor ever knew what it was until recently I got a new gynecologist who told me those cuts are nothing to worry and that it's just bac vaginosis or yeast. She told me to put ointment on it to help prevent more breakage etc.

I went to go Thursday but they ended up cancelling due to the nurse being ill. it went away and has appeared again 3 days later, same thing but i am now using canisten cream that has stopped the itching. its always the same place, right near the clit, it never is an open sore or anything though. no blood. no puss x
