Small, Flat Bump on Penis

Posted , 11 users are following.

About 10 months ago, I noticed a small bump on the shaft of my penis. It is flesh colored and slightly raised. I had my PM look at it recently and he said it didn't appear to be a wart. He said he would refer me to a specialist next visit if it has not gone away. Today when examining it, I also noticed a grayish patchy area next to the bump. Does this look like a possible genital wart to you? If not a wart, thoughts on what it could be?imageimageimage

Just a follow up in case anyone experiences something similar. Talked to an online doctor, shared symptoms and pictures, and was advised that this is not a genital wart, but a prominent sebaceous gland. The gray discoloration is penile lentigo - neither of which is an STD. Googled both and the online images match what I have. She also advised me to apply vinegar to the bump to see if it turned white - it did not.

Don't think I'm able to post links. Tried it and message came back saying the post needed moderation. But google "STD online advice" and you'll see a website pop up called Just Answered. That's the one...

So another update to this post. I finally had the bump looked at a year or so ago. The dermatologist snipped it off and sent it in for biopsy. It was not a prominent sebaceous gland, nor a wart. It was, however, a small cancerous spot. Scary stuff. Had it been left unchecked, it could have spread and been a much, much more serious situation. Lesson to be had - have anything and everything checked out by a doctor.

damn i just made a post on here and got no replies but after seeing your images and how it ended up being cancer after that long I called into work and am going to wait at a walk-in clinic tomorrow morning.

may I ask what kind of dr you saw? Glad you had it looked at and removed.

It was a urologist who cut the growth off and sent it to the lab for testing.

thank you for sharing! Didn't know if maybe it was a dermatologist.
