Small, flat stools for years.

Does anyone else have stool that is like this? Mine is small and flat and broken up into a bunch of pieces. Sometimes just a few pieces come out and sometimes like 20-30 pieces. At the end of a bowel movement some always gets stuck. My urge to go is often weak and I often have to strain because the pieces are so small. I've been through all the testing and officially been diagnosed with IBS. I was just curious if anyone else's stools look this way with their ibs.

Someone explained something like this yesterday,
It sounds like a change of diet may be a good idea, your GP may be able to supply a diet sheet.
I have problems with constipation the pain medications seem to effect the stool. In my case I eat quite a lot of Salad without the associated lettuce, cannot eat that. Generally, tomatoes, peppers cucumber and several large portions of fruit, at the moment there are boxes of tangerines for Christmas, we get through a box at once a week and three packets of pears. Try Lidl and Aldi they are quite reasonable. They reduce the price of fruit vegetables and salad items, the other changes every week so you can get a good mix. This week was quite good they had Persimone and Mango, they made a nice change. Each item can be a really good bargain at aroun 69 pence.
They also have Swede on special. Carrots and Parsnips are also good value as iS Broccali and cauliflower.
Talk to your GP and see if a change like above will help, we still eat bread and potatoes also Porrage to get some bulk.
We will be fortunate next year as we will start getting our own fruit. You can get Raspberry cans that produce from May to first frost, also Strawberries from June to October. We still eat meat in smaller portions These plants do not take up much space.
Above is just a suggestion we are lucky we have a big garden and I understand how lucky we are. Hazel is getting a food Dehydrator for Christmas, Its a secret.

Hi, when you go to toilet you should have your knees higher than your hips, put your feet on something maybe about 8 to 12 inches high, so you are on the toilet in a squatting position this is the natural position for bowel movements it's all to do with the anatomy of the colon, squatting straightens it up at the sigmond area, and avoids the need to strain to much, you can check this out online lots of info.
