Small Hiatus Hernia - Is it possible to fix naturally?

Hi, I have just been diagnosed with this after suffering with really bad heartburn and acid reflux for months. I am aware that diet can help and I have restricted what I know to be triggers and stopped eating after 7pm.

I have also been taking PPIs which definitely are useful but I don't want to take them forever as I'm worried about the potential side effects. So - a couple of questions if I may;

I was prescribed 2 months worth of Omeprazole which I have already been taking on and off. If I take them every single day for 2 months is it really going to fix the problem or just mask the symptoms?

Has anyone on here been taking Omeprazole long term and has it caused any issues?

I have seen videos on youtube which suggests that it can be fixed and that the stomach can be moved back down and the muscle (diaphragm) strengthened so it does not come back up again - has anyone had any success with this?

I really hope so as this is the route i want to take obviously, since it fixes the root cause rather than the symptoms.

Hass anyone had the op? And have you had to have another at a later period to fix the problem again?

Thanks!
