small specks of blood on solid stool?

Is this anything to be concerned about? Currently on prednisolone (tapering down, currently on 30mg) and only going once a day and producing formed stools but every so often i'm seeing a tiny small spot/patch of red on a bit of solid stool, is this anything to be concerned about? Am I just still healing?

Could it be because I'm having a no fibre diet?

hello, can i ask what mg steroids did you start on? this happen to me once , i felt soon as tampered down from 30mg to 25mg i started to get watery stools . she i kept on to my specialist that im getting worse the lower the dose of steroids. which they changed the form of my daily medication from 1G pentasa Suppositories to a oral form. that has seemed to work. but people say only have concern if your loosing a lot of fluid and consistent blood.

I'm on 30mg at the moment but my stools aren't watery (this happened at the very start of my course so they upped my dose, i saw a lot of blood and wateryness start to come back after swapping from IV steroids to 40mg, so they bumped me up to 60mg for a week) - I've then tapered from 60mg one week, 50mg next week, 40mg next week and now on a 5mg weekly taper. Even when things got looser though, it was still a once a day movement. Like I said the motions are still solid, just noticed a tiny bit of blood speckled on the stool itself - i wonder if its because ive been straining to push out farts and a complete lack of fibre in my diet means things are a bit rough and not as smooth as they could be? I've attached a pic to show what i saw , hope it isn't too gross - you can see the speck on the left

Thank you! it is very reassuring to hear from someone as it can be very confusing to work out what is normal and what is not, especially when it comes to bleeding. I think I was just scared that this little sign of bleeding might mean more blood to come soon, but as it wasn't loose, i don't think I should be worried. As last time I saw blood and then things got worse - it was accompanied with looseness and the blood was separate to the stool. I've started to drink a very small amount of Kefir every morning so hopefully that will help with the probiotics, i think I might add bananas back into my diet too or maybe porridge and see if that helps 😃

Obviously for our sake let the dr know about it, because if they can eliminate 100% all blood you will be top of your game. but do not worry many people still bleed in remission. your stool looking incredible compared to most people in remission. i tend to have 2 bananas blended with almond milk in the mornings. and a probiotics drink with blueberries at the same time. they combine well. 😃. keep doing what your doing.
