Smashed calcaneus, ankle and fibula pain 6 months after surgery

Hi i am a 35 year old male who fell about 25 feet and smashed my calcaneus (heal) leading to a shattered ankle and broken fibula as well. I have a variety of plates and screws in and have been walking with a limp 3 months after full weight bearing. Its been over 6 months since the surgery. The pain to walk is basically unbearable without sneakers and even still the swelling and pain becomes incredible even after walking short distances. My left leg is the "normal" one and that ankle swells from the compensation in making for the right one. Also my muscle is not coming back ad quickly as i thought, even with PT. Wish i could attach some images but file size is too big. Please advice, similar situation some anecdotes on what to expect.
