Hi All fellow suffering fantastic supporting ladies. i have a smear booked for tomorrow and not had one in 5yrs. i never used to bother about it but i know its going to hurt like mad this time, i'll have to ask the nurse for a whole tube of lubrication. i imagine i will be walking home looking like iv been horse riding for the first time.
Anyone else had theirs lately?
ill try and remember to report back tomorrow and tell you how it went but ill probably be soaking in the bath so ill get back soon x

I know how you're feeling. Finally booked mine for 3rd October. This will be after having my last at 50, five years ago. I was anxious then, but when I relaxed, as much as possible, it went OK and I wasn't in pain after. I was talking to a friend, and she said they have a smaller device they can insert, not sure if this is right, but I shall definitely ask. Not sure about the lubricant, can this be used without affecting results. All the best for your test. 🤗

I had mine last Tuesday. It was well over a year overdue and I was even thinking about cancelling it even up to an hour before i went. I explained ti the nurse how worried i was and she was lovely. it was uncomfortable but I'm so glad its over with now . please don't cancel, this time tomorrow it will be done and dusted. my nurse had me chatting about all sorts while she did it, taking my mind off the procedure. good luck x

You do need to go and have it done. i know its easy for me to say that now Ive been, but i have a family member who they found cells with and ended up having a hysterectomy but been fine since coming upto 22 years now. but sadly another who never went and sadly hers was unnoticed and died a year after diagnosis.

I had one a few months ago. Am I crazy? It doesn't hurt at all. It is part of the yearly exam.
