Smelling cigaretts

Hi Michelle, yes your sense of smell can go really wierd and you can smell things that are not there. As for the hrt, my dr told me that to get maximum benefit you have to have it for at least 3 months. Remember, it takes a number of years for our bodies to slowly wind down then totally stop making certain hormones so hrt needs a while to pick everything back up again. Give it another try and stick to it for a while and I'm sure you will reap the benefits! XXX

Hi Michele, I’ve woke up before in the morning with the cigarette smoke smell, I thought I was dreaming but couldn’t get the smell out of my nose and no one smokes in my house, it’s so weird lol

I agree with Tina, I don’t think you’ve given the hrt long enough. I tried several hrts before settling on tibolone, HRT makes my migraines worse

Feeling a bit gutted this week, no bleeding for approx 6 or 7 months this also lessened the migraines then bam on Wednesday took some spotting then what seems like a very light period which is coming and going

When will all of this end!!!

Hi Michelle, I too have that symptom!! For the longest time I thought I was losing my mind until my sister mentioned that she was experiencing this as well. I hadn’t told her that I was because I thought people would think I’m crazy if they heard this. It seems to be worse when my eyes, mouth and nose get dry. I use a saline gel to lubricate the inside of my nose and it seems to help. I’ve read the 66 symptoms of menopause and I’m now journaling my own. There are way more than 66 symptoms for sure!!!

I've had this symptom also! It went away, but then I noticed I couldn't stand the smell of perfume. I love wearing perfume, I would buy bottles at a time, but for maybe the past eight(more or less) the smell is just too much. But that seems to be slowly going away too. I bought two bottles today!😂😂😂😂

Well, I feel strange smells when my sinuses are blocked. This is also the time when the neck and shoulder pain is the worst. I used to smell perspiration-smelly perspiration, not cigarettes tho.

 

Hi Michelle!I have also been experiencing the cigarette smell for the last couple of years. Mine comes and goes. No one in my house smokes and I’m the only one that can smell it. It’s driving me nuts! I googled it and what a mistake! I read about all kinds of terrible things. I’m hoping it’s just another wonderful symptom of premenopause or sinuses. Hang in there.
