You have to laugh and be honest, that's how we all feel regardless of our age.

    Thanks for sharing wink xx

I did laugh I must admit.  Funnily enough however, my memory is just fine - I just get 'mental blocks' and hit a brick wall in my thinking and find I can't move forward either with what I'm saying or thinking, yet I can remember past events okay. It's remembering what I'm supposed to do next that sometimes I have trouble with.  This all sounds a bit muddled when I read it back but it's hard to explain the 'fog' at times.

Hi Loxie How did you get on today?hun ? x

Hi Kaz, thanks so much for asking.  I amazingly didnt have to wait too long to get seen and the doctor I saw was very pleasant.  He actually asked me if I'd brought a list and was happy for me to work through it.  He listened! He made copious notes, asked further questions and clarified everything.  Very reassuring.  He then did quite a few simple tests, like testing my arms' resistance strength, pin prick tests, a couple of very basic word tests etc.  At the end of it all, he said he was sure it wasn't anything neurological or neuromuscular (I actually forget the word he used - there's the brain fog again).  His view was that some or all of the pain may be neck related, eg trapped nerve etc., and that the fatigue was most likely the culprit with forgetting words during a sentence etc.  He also thinks I need a thorough thyroid test as almost all of my symptoms could be attributed to hypothyroidism.  He's going to refer me for an MRI for the neck and told me to go back to the GP and request a further thyroid test.  Here we go on the merry go round again.  To be honest, I'll actually be grateful if they find a trapped nerve and/or thyroid issue, at least then I may get some 'proper' treatment.  As soon as my GP's mentioned fibromyalgia, they sort of switched off and went for the prescription pad, to which I rebelled **grin**.  More waiting but at least today seemed productive.

How exciting Loxie, it sound like you are making progress, more tests I know but at least they will hopefully help you solve your neck pain. Good news you don't have dementia, it is such a scarey threat hovering over all of us---sigh----- Best of luck with the tests hope they ---finally --- get to the bottom of it.xxx

Hi Loxie sooo pleased the person you saw listened for 1 and 2nd was very thorough with you. he sounds great Im not surprised one bit that he doesnt think its anything neurological neuromuscular. I saw a neurologist he did tests etc he actually appologised to me. He said Im sooo sorry all tests have come back normal Im sooo sorry I cant do anything for you, he kept appologising it was dec 12th 2013 I came ou the hospital in floods of tears as I just wanted to know what the hell was wrong with me. I have had hashimotos disease Ive an under active thyroid Im on levothyroxine for life. Havving a problem with your thyroid can cause serious problems if left untreated. so Im pleased your being tested for it. which to be honest your gp should of done that before now. at least he is trying to help you which is excellent. hope you have a good weekend hun take care gentle hugs xxsmile

I did get my thyroid tested some time ago.  The neurologist asked me if I'd ever had my thyroid levels checked and I said yes and then he asked what the outcome was. I replied that all I got told was 'theyre ok' whatever that means, he asked what were the results?  No idea I replied, I wasn't shown the results - what did they actually test for he asked, again no idea, I said 'I was at the mercy of the GP' who didn't find it appropriate to tell me much'. He didnt look happy at that.  I'm going to go back and tell her the neurologist himself said I should have my thyroid function tested and that I want a 'thorough' test - I'm so sick to death of being fobbed off and ignored to be honest.   I really feel for you having hashimotos and fibro - you must feel totally slaughtered most of the time.  I woke up in serious pain this morning and it's been bad all day, my neck, shoulders, arms and lower back are all killing me.  Took paracetamol but it didnt touch it.  Tried to do a little light gardening in the hope of loosening up the tension but go so exhausted I didnt manage much.  Just want to lie down and sleep now but gotta fix dinner soon.  Probably be too tired to eat it after all that. biggrin

Hi Loxie My dr tests my throid level every year, tablet has been adjusted twice since  I was diagnosed. Ive never been told what the results were. I only got told if tablet needed adjusting.I dont think any one cares where us lot are concerned were just left to get on with it, is what Ive found. Ive never had any help support from any where just told what Id got that was that. hope your pain soon eases hun take care gentle hugs xxxx

Hi Kaz thank you for asking, my back is also very sore, will have to get another scan to see what is going on, I am over medical adventures. Sorry to hear your back is bad, you just don't need that.

Your new bathroom project sounds good, there is nothing like a fresh new bathroom. It is lucky your hubby is so handy it so helps with costs. Would love to know what colours you are using in there? We need to update our bathrooms will have to save up for it. You also take care of yourself and hopefully not to painful a week. Very very gentle hugs xxx🌹

Morning meg doing well with our backs arnt we hun? I had trouble moving last night mine was sooo bad got up this morning have got severe pain in my neck??? the not so joy of having fibro. never mind plod on. the colour we are useing on the bathroom is by dulux endurance sweet pink. we picked 2 colours both by dulux sweet pink and pretty pink. we brought little pots of each colour to try pretty pink came out lighter than the sweet pink. I wasnt sure on the colour at 1st but its really grown on me and looks lovely. I would really like to totally refurbish the bathroom altogeather but your looking at around £5,000 to do it. I dont have that sort of money. so we are just painting and adding new accessories. When I had chat to my gp about my back, she said at forst about sending me for another scan, then changed her mind and said its fibro thats causing the severe pain? so I dont know, I just plod on as best I can.all weve done in the bathroom is white glossed the paint work then use dulux on the walls. we only ever use dulux or crown paints. Ive tried B&Q own in the past didnt like the paint. so we stick to what we are happy with. take care very gentle hugs xxx hope you have a good day your back eases soon for youxsmile

Your bathroom sounds nice and warming, we need all the cosseting we can get. Yep we can only afford the fixtures too, retiling would just cost too much right now.

We are birds of a feather when it comes to aches, both my neck and lower back are giving me real problems at present I wake up stiff and sore, soooo much fun!!! I am trying to concentrate on the positives in my life and not dwell on the negatives.

      Have a great day.xxx🌷

Hi there Kaz, glad to hear you are on the mend, I was quite worried about you. I hope you had chicken soup, as I believe it helps you heal, a personal bias of course.

I had a lovely weekend, and apart from the ever present fatigue my other aches and pains etc, etc, behaved themselves, and I was even able to socialise. Still  going through patches when I can"t sleep, wish I knew the cure, that works for my body!

Please look after yourself, we missed you. Megxxx

Good to hear you are on the mend Kaz, if not somewhat slowly. Please don't do what I do, and do too much too quickly. Can you get a therapeutic massage to help relieve your back muscles. I splashed out yesterday and had one pure bliss, apparently the right side of my body was incredibly tight, interesting.

As  for a photo, hmmm not sure, don't want to scare people, I am very camera shy, hate having my photo taken, I always pull faces and end up looking dorky, I will have to think about that one and see if my hubby can take a flattering photo, a work in progress.

      Be gentle with yourself. Megxxx

morning meg How are you today? Funny you should mention a massage I am thinking of having one. A full body massage and a facial my treat to myself. I am going to book the lady I had when I got married shes lovely I had a few body massages leading up to my wedding 12 years ago. so going to treat myself. I had a relapse last night felt quiet poorly again I couldnt stop sneezing kept going hot cold. I think its going to be a slow process in recovery never mind onwards upwards. Im camera shy I have to admit I avoid having my picture done at all costs. if its a wedding picture last 1 my nephews I hid in the back ground. until he grabbed me said I want one with my auntie I couldnt get out of it. hope you have a good day with not much pain take care gentle hug xxsmile

Go for it Kaz you certainly deserve to be pampered  and treated like a princess. What is more a massage helps loosens up the muscles which help a little with the old aches and pains. I am even doing very gentle stretches to loosen up the hamstrings, which the Lady Masseur said were quite tight and maybe contributing to my sore back and hips, I will try anything.

I do do hope you recover soon but please take things carefully. Megxxx

I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that you can get out this weekend, I am sure you must be experiencing cabin fever?

Your hubby must be extremely capable. How exciting that you will have a freshened up kitchen. Do'nt ask me about colours I have no idea, good luck choosing. Our kitchen is cream with dark work surfaces, I wish they were a softer lighter colour but it still looks okay.

Pain not too bad but just so tired all the time, even when I do get sleep it just doesn't go away. Enjoy your weekend xxxMeg💐
