But would appreciate advice on coming off the pain killers! I have a little tightening, throbbing General aches and pains, shall I reduce them, bearing in mind ive had more off the DR Or should I carry on, to reduce swelling etc? Thoughts please? X

Pain killers won't reduce swelling.  Maybe just reduce slowly by not taking so many each day.  I stopped because they affected my bowels!   I think ibroprofen is good to reduce inlammatiin, but I found the best way was to keep my foot raised well over my hip and better still above heart.!   It's a slow process, this recovery, and eating well like salmon is good for the bone repair but I put on 5 pounds and now can't get them off!

I had my last pain killers last night Barbara and have had non so far today x the pains I'm getting appear to be the feet repairing themselves under the bandages! Lots of funny tingling and nervy things going on where the pin is so all good just tightening up. Yes this is my problem

the Bowels! Lol that's why I'm trying to reduce. Overall I'm

Happy so far. Hve to seriously remember to not try and do anything x it's hard though but I'm determined x

Oh yes I remember all that now, all the itching, tingles, aches and pains going on under the bandages.  They couldn't fit me in for a 2 week check to take them off, had to wait 3 wks!   It was an horrific experience that last week, I was too scared to take off the bandages myself.  So now when I think back to all that, I'm not so,bad off now after all hee hee.

Isn't great to have such good hubbies, M has been a star. If it is swollen rest and elevate pain killers only mask pain not help with inflammation. Elevation and ice I found is the best. Take it easy it's probably your foot telling you you have done too much, we all do it though, so don't beat yourself up.
