snoring issue

Hi guys
I have snoring problem while sleeping. It's not very loud but my wife said she woke up 4-5 time a day.
Few things to note -
- I don't smoke
- Social drinker
- I don't have cold/flu/sinus
- My weight is within limits
- I don't take dairy products like milk at night
- I don;t take any medications at night
- I tried changing my sleeping position - side ways and face down
- every day before going to bed i used to drink warm water to clear my throat
still i'm having this problem.. I will really appreciate any comments/advice.

See if you can get your doctor to refer you to a sleep lab. In spite of not being overweight you could still have sleep apnoea.

It might be a general health problem. When was the last time you had full blood tests, for example? That's why it's important to at least see your GP and explain that this is a new problem. I'm also wondering how old you are. Snoring does sometimes start abruptly in middle age, though this is normally more of a problem for women than men.

I'd strongly suggest a full medical check-up and request a referral to a sleep specialist, even if you don't actually spend the night in a sleep lab.

This was suggested to me by a sleep specialist. I demurred when told the overnight cost would be around £2000 and that, if sleep apnoa diagnosed, there are not simple treatment solutions. So I concluded not to bother. Now sleep in separate bedrooms, save when in an hotel room
