hi all

done something f*****g stupid the other day,,

so my friends and I went to a party after a day of day drinking where we got pretty out of hand, I blacked out and dont remember much at all,

My friends the next day mentioned that a did some lines with a guy who is known to have hsv2, where I don't remember if we used the same straw or bill or what, but assuming that we did.

I was curious, can someone catch HSV2 from snorting coke and maybe mixing some blood? if so, would you have herpes on your genitals?

I am going to get tested to be forsure, but now i dont know if i would show the antibody in my blood from a couple of lines...

I know i f****d up and am very stupid, but getting super bad anxiety just thinking about it.

Thanks everyone

You get herpes from skin on skin contact. You can’t catch it from an object like that.

will this situation mean im exposed to the antibodies for HSV. I went to the clinic today and they said you cant catch the virus from my situation. The blood test they offer will cost $150. Now I'm curious if I take it in the future (past 16 week mark) Will i test positive because I been exposed to the antibodies but not the virus? or am I on a totally wrong track here

In your situation I wouldn’t even pay that money for the blood test. It is nothing to worry about it, you didn’t touch skin to skin. If you really want to get tested just to clear your mind I would wait 4 months, and if you have antibodies that means you got infected with the virus. If there’s no antibodies there’s no virus in your system. There’s a good chance you’ve came across somebody with herpes and had touched them skin to skin, you didn’t catch it because you didn’t get infected. Having antibodies and the virus is the same thing, both positive for herpes. You won’t test positive unless you have herpes

Also herpes can only be spread to your gentitals if the other persons infected area touches your gentitals, so if somebody’s mouth or gentitals goes down there they could give it to you only down there. If you kiss someone with HSV-1(cold sores) it would go on the mouth, or if you have somebody oral it could spread to your mouth as well. But I read it’s a low risk, also if somebody with cold sores goes down to your gentitals they can give you HSV-1 down there and that’s considered genital herpes. If the straw went in your nose it’s nothing. Only way to catch it is by that infected area touching you at that spot
