Im due for an endoscopy next week . day after my birthday I hope everything goes well, Im actually nervous about the whole thing as well as the outcome of it all.

I Probably would have been able to be seen earlier but there is a cost before going in for an endoscopy. , which states you need to be seen for a consultation first, it took me 4 months to be seen while I was still in pain. So if you dont have the funds. you have to wait in cue. which is 3-6 months. I waitied 4 months. in the public health system. I HAVE SYMPTOMS like burping constant burping, white coating on the tongue, a feeling of wanting to vomit. Nasty taste goe up into my esophogus into my throat its horrible. and no I dont have anxiety.A feeling of wanting to vomit everyday I drink lots of water to try and keep it down or what not. but it doesnt help it, yes Iv had blood tests, etc, fungal tests, and Barium swallow test, ecg done on me chest xray. come back normal, Does anyone have the symptoms as me. and if so do you have an answer to all these symptoms and what medicines you are taking etc'., Im actually nervous about the Endoscopy. and what the outcome of it maybe;, etc

I know its easy to say but try not be worry about the endscopy because first of all , if you take sedation (I have had 2 and won't have one without it) you know absolutely nothing about it.

The endscopy should tell them what they need to know and then you can rest assured that there is nothing else to worry about. The outcome of my endscopy was as simple as take the PPI  and there is nothing else to worry about.

    Hi aryt

the endoscopy is nothing to worry about.  It takes about 10 minutes and you won't be aware.  I expect you are concerned about the results but given all your other tests came back normal I would try not to worry.  I was diagnosed with GERS a couple of years ago and am on a ppi.  It is called Tectra.

i was interested in the bad taste in mouth as I have this.  Did your dr ever advise you what this might be.

Yes my GP advised me that it could be Severe acid reflux, I got a throat swab months ago twice this year and it come back with nothing, the chest xray as I was getting a sore chest and a barium swallow test which come back with nothing etc'.and blood tests which come back fine'. 10 mintues seems ok, I just hope its not an hour etc'.How do you cope with GERS, I was asked to take pantoprazole, as that has really done nothing for me, I got prescribed codeine as I can get in pain from time to time. etc, its the uncomfortableness which is really frustrating for me and the feeling of wanting to vomit yet nothing comes out and nauseated feeling etc'.and a white coating on my tongue etc.

Could be bile reflux. For me iwas ctused by thI removal of my gallbladder. I have heart burn and get a yuckie taste in my mouth. I aspirate on bile in my sleep on occasionally. I have bouts of nausea and diarrhea/ constipation. I have issues with spasms so I feel choking feelings with swallowing some foods. ..like raw veggies or bread or potatoes. I had a scope done. Very easy. Easier than having major dental work! You are asleep so it is no big deal. This confirmed the suspicions.

I eat a lot if candied ginger to stop heart burn and to prevent it. Just nibble on it. One small chunk over a day.

    I drink lots of water.

    Take enzymes after eating.

Cut out beef and salmon. All higher fat foods. Skim milk rather than whole. Low fat Greek yogurts. Not just the high fat fast food but actually keeping fat per serving around 5 g or less.

I have some mess to help with the spasms and another for the issues relating to the nausea.

I have also been eating chia seeds. I take some small amounts in empty gel caps with water at random points during my day.

Eating lots of chicken and brussel sprouts!

    Trying to relax.

It is not easy to live with. But I am coping.

Good luck. Seriously the scope is nothing. I was worried. But other than the 60 seconds when they spray your throat with the yuckie numbing spray...really yuckie. But then you are asleep.

Don't sweat it. I would choose doing that again over having another cavity filled!

Eating healthy can be expensive'. I try to get probiotic yoghurt as much as I can. and eat wheatmeal bread instead of eating white bread. and I hear that chicken is good without the skin just to fry or what not'.Im just a little worried and of course nervous about the outcome as well. as they may find something that could make me worry more' etc. It has been going on for months like 7 months. I couldnt afford to see a specialists. straight away I had to wait 4 months as I didnt have the funds etc. I'll ty skim milk. I'll try gluten free. I'll try anything depending on my budget etc'.

I have been feeling like this for almost a year. For the last 4 months i've been nauseous all day while feeling like something is stuck in my throat. I have a barium swallow test next wednesday hopefully they can find from where this is coming from cause being nauseous all day is really frustrating sad

    Goodluck with your endoscopy

Good luck on Your Barium swallow test, I dont think you have anything to worry about in that test. Its generally just a drink that looks like the texture of sand which they get you to drink and swallow while they xray you etc from two sides. or three sides, left side front side and right side, they make you turn etc . And if they find nothing then I guess they try and book you an appointment or to go back to Your Gp and try and get a consultation with a specialist, I hope you get a good specialists. and not the one that I had'. You generally have to wait 4 months depending on where you are from . to see a specialists, and thats just for a consultation not a endoscopy. if you dont have the funds'.etc.I waited 4 months and then finally when I was seen he saw me for all but 10 minutes and of course as per usual didnt listen to a single word that I was trying to say to him. Glad I didnt pay $280 to be seen straight away. but if you dont have tohe funds then the waiting time to be seen for a consultation can be a nightmare, the specialists I saw was a nightmare. didnt really want to elaborate on anything cause he had lots of other patients to see. They are not specialists for nothing'. I guess, so im hoping they treat you with respect and not just brush you off like you are crazy etc as a few of them do portray themselves like that'.its frustrating. while you are in pain nauseated like myself and the feeling of wanting to vomit etc. when all you want are legit answers not made up stories. etc.

Thank you and Good luck with your Barium swallow test, yes it is frustrating being nauseated all day, trust me I know the feeling, I just hope they find out the answers and not made up stories. going to all sorts of doctors or specialists who cant explain legit reasons or find legit answers can be a nightmare'. when all patients want are help not made up stories or conclusions that doesnt quite describe what you are going through etc.

Hi all. I've had the barium swallow test yesterday and good newsbis that I dont have any leakages or blockages but I acid reflux was shown in the xray. Now i have an appointment with my doctor to tell me exactly the results. Will he give me something to control the acid reflux since I've been feeling nauseous all day for 4 months now.

      Thank you

Try eating an apple when you get reflux. It's known to help although each case is different. If it works, fine. Give up the medicines. If it doesn't, it won't do any harm and costs pence. The stomach can settle down with tonic water, which contains quinine and helped me with travel sickness. You can drink it with or without gin!

Hello, I have similar symptoms including heartburn after eating, painful swallowing, sore throat and chest pain for almost 2 years now. I have gotten an ekg done, a barium swallow, manometry, and an endoscopy, doc says everything seems fine it must be physoclogical or something. But Im 15 and homeschooled and i don't think I would have anxiety while im at my own house? I also don't think anxiety can make me feel that bad especially when and after eating. About the endoscopy, I was a little nervous too, but you don't feel a thing.

Youre quite young to be getting all those symptoms, I dont understand how doctors can put it all down to Physcological? I dont mean to be rude but thats the most ridiculous thing Iv ever heard'. Have they not done any other tests, ? other than EKG, We call it ECG where we stay'., Doctors who told you that you have physcology issues must have it themselves'. as they are probably confused as to what it is'.Dont worry I get the same exact thing coming from one doctor who kept suggesting for me to take anxiety tablets'. I dont, Cause I know its not an anxiety issue. Iv never really been diagnosed with anxiety'. I guess anxiety for me is someone who worries. and I worry just as much as any other human who worries about bills etc'. but not as much as what I have over the past 4 months'If they are going to diagnose one person with anxiety because they are worried about their health, then I guess they should diagnose other people who worry about their kids and bills and money and work. cause thats what it appears to sound like. Its natural for a person to worry about their health'. especially if the symptoms have been ongoing for the past 8 months or 2 years'. Bills and other things are a worry, but at least it gets sorted out within 2 weeks. paid for or what not and now all of a sudden they are suggesting people have physcological issues, I find that to be an Insult'. on any person who is suffering symptoms like yours'. I try not to argue but its hard not to, especially when they are looking at you like You're crazy, when all you really want is Legit reasons and answers, not something like a lazy prediction from a doctor cause they cant be bothered'.If youre in pain I think you should keep forwarding your issues'..

I know, sometimes I think they don't even care how you feel. I don't know what else to do, I keep telling my parents and they just tell me to take Zantac. Sometimes It hurts so badly I cry so much but I try to hide it because I don't want people to think I'm crazy or something.  I also get tired really easily and feel my heart beating and feel like I'm out of breath. I don't know if it's anxiety cuz I don't worry about anything during the day. But I did get anxiety from going to public school. Do you think it could be my gallbladder or something else?

I also find eating candied ginger when I feel heart burn coming or with nausea. Works very well. Just dime sized chunks eaten with water. I buy organic as the other has sulphites which trigger my asthma.
