So anxious

I’ve been on Zoloft (generic) for 4 weeks and I’m having nervousness. So bad. I started with 25 mg for about a week and then went to 50mg.

At the 4th week I was feeling awful still and was told to increase. So this morning I took 75mg. I don’t feel any better.

Can someone let me know if this is normal?

I can’t see why you have been asked to increase the dose to 75mg when you are feeling bad. Remember that you will want to come off this med at some point. If I had known about the withdrawal symptoms, I would not have started this med!

Hi Deborah. Yes it totally normal. There are a few things to keep in mind when starting an ssri, it's going to be a bumpy ride but the good days will out weigh the bad as time moves on. Every pill you take has side effects, some when starting others when coming off. Hang in there, most ssris take 6-8 weeks to get stable, and then you should find your good days out numbering your bad. I'd keep a diary, so on your bad days you can remind yourself about the good ones. I'm on week 4 and just increased to 75mg this morning, I'm expecting more anxiety and neasea , but I know after 4 days that settles again. Stay positive and try to keep as much of a normal day as you can, remember anxeity is just a horrid feeling, it won't kill you, it's there to try and keep you safe !
