So Chuffed with myself

Today, for the first time in many years, I was able to go Christmas shopping with my beautiful daughter. We walked and chatted, just as we used to. We tried all the expensive perfumes and left the store smelling like a couple of "high class hookers"! We had our make up professionally applied with Lancôme products which, of course, promoted a much deserved purchase of their eye shadows along with some added essential extras. I was going to have my ears pieced again. I quite fancied two studs in each ear, but my daughter, outraged, relayed that should I contemplate surgery of any description, after two hip replacements, this year, I could find another carer and possibly another daughter . I thought, at this stage, it was probably best not to mention my anticipated op for a hammer toe!

Not only is it incredible; it is quite implausible , that this time last year I was totally crippled; unable to walk and in inexorable agonising pain. My last op was just nine and a half weeks ago. Yes I'm shattered but also uplifted and I shall probably sleep very well indeed!

Now what to do about this wretched toe?

Tie a bow round it and except the fact that you don't have to be perfect just perfectly happy.

Well done and have a really happy and pain free Christmas

What an uplifting story, really made me smile as I imagined tge two of you exploring the cosmetic counters! Good for you, well deserved treat after all you've been through over the last year & hope for the rest of us at the beginning of our journey.

Im already imagining a Christmas shopping trip in 2017 with my beautiful daughter, worth working towards.

    Thanks for sharing

      Thanks Margaret,

I was hoping it would be uplifting to all those awaiting or having just had surgery.

I know it sounds really stupid but now that the pain from my osteoarthritis has diminished, I am really feeling the pain in my toe. That op is no longer carried out on the NHS so shall smile sweetly at my Consultant whilst wearing my Lancôme 💄 💋

Hi Anna, my Physio is due any moment! You have to be joking !!!

Thank goodness, it looks like rain, because, at the moment, rather than Physio, my bed looks extremely inviting.

      Have a great day xx

Yes, it was wonderful. With all the will in the world I could not face further surgery for at least another six months .
