I always think that a balanced diet that incorporates all the necessary vitamins and minerals is best unless there is a reason like a food intolerance.
I also add some supplements like vitamin K2, D3, magnesium, zinc and calcium. Some foods that are helpful for osteoporosis include prunes, avocados and kiwi fruit. There are others as well. It is good to research online for information about diet and exercise.
Protein is important too. If you can eat meats from animals that eat grass is also advised by some people.
There is also abundant information in the posts throughout the osteoporosis threads on here.
All the best.

I can only eat goats or sheeps cheese because of the lactose intolerance. I manage very well without the eggs and the wheat and gluten, getting all my seeds requirements from sunflower and other common seeds.
Angela didn't say whether she has osteopenia or osteoporosis and may have some other unrelated complaint. I don't like to be too nosey although that is in my nature, but I would be interested to know.

Iforgot to mention that salt, should be unrefined sea salt since the stuff we usually use doen't do your calcium any good.

Funny thing is my daughter and I have turned up low salt on tests.
I also notice sugar is not bad for everyone. Another daughter can eat sugar but not many other food items.
I avoid sugar.

Yeah, sometimes it's hard to figure out. I get hypoglyceimic reactions to many high glycemic foods. Doctor said to eat fruit only in mornings and WITH protein.
She out me on diet of NO flour, no rice, grains, no dairy, no legumes, no sugar, now no night shades, oh and no potatoes, no soy. Sure enough I lost a lot of weight, but I still have inflammation pains.
I now do eat some dairy occasionally. Sip buttermilk for probiotic effect, and sometimes plain yougert. On OP diet that's ok since they are more alkaline than acidic.
Problem with legumes and grains is due to our soil being so over used and toxic pesticides, I think she thinks they are not as nutritional as once was.
As for cheese, I personally think some sprinkles on a salad of eggs should be ok. If your body reacts to them with pains, then maybe no. Or if cause bloat in stomache, then perhaps your tummy not digesting it well and that might not be good.
Im trying to listen to my body, though I still tend to ignore. Now when I go for a cup of coffee, though I only drink maybe 2-3 ounces, but my esophagus or upper stomach will feel a gurgle, as if trying to tell me, no, do not eat that. Ha.
I love red meat, sometimes I have absolutely no problem or reactions to it, but sometimes I do get bloated feeling.
And yes, now my blood pressure is low so I use more salt.
I've found a yougert made locally that has many, many more active cells in it compared to the typical store bought brands. I've heard that is key. Organic is best of course but hard to find.
Sugar should still be cautioned against. I'm not saying cut out totally because it's hard to do, but try to find other ways of enjoying sweets, like dates, or honey based things or real maple syrup perhaps. That bleached processed stuff...ugh...silent killer in my opinion. It's so sad they use sugar in so many things.

We don't know that Karen has any food allergies or intolerances. That is why we need to know why she is considering a paleo diet.
We also don't know if she has osteoporosis or has posted here by mistake.
Until we know these facts it is hard to actually suggest much.
