I am so confused with all of this. My period ended 2 days ago and now its back full bright red blood with clots. I am so sick of going to the dr's and ER . Has this happened to anyone. Is this normal in peri ? I am so confused.

Hi Sally,
Yes, this happens to me every few cycles. I have horrid symptoms on Day 1, not so bad on Day 2 or 3, and then I stop bleeding and think "oh ,that wasn't so bad". Skip a day or two. Start up with horrid symptoms all over again, and bam!, bleeding again.
it is beyond frustrating.
I have a gyne appt next month. This is a new pattern for me, so I will mention it, but I'm pretty sure she'll say it's not unusual at this stage.
You are not alone.

YES... there has been a few times that I think I'm done and then I get this 'heavy' surprise a day later.. This last time I spotted for 6 days after... Around this time anything goes I guess...

Yes you are right!!! I take an iron pill morning and night on my heavy flow days just to make sure my iron stays on track. And last GYN visit I had a young NP and she told me to get an ultrasound just to make sure there are no fibroids in the way. My test is next week so hoping it goes well..

Yes, it can be scary too, you can bleed very very heavy as you begin to go deeper into menopause, I was surprised I did not pass out when it was happening to me, I remember I had to pack extra clothes, tampons, pads, underwear for months ..ugh! It is good you get it check though but it can be normal to have the clots

yes this is normal. peri started for me a year and a half ago and i swear I have had every symptom. even the weird ones. night sweats, panic attacks, allergies way worse with sinus problems, internal vibration, wobbly legs, boobs giant and sore for a whole month, weight gain even though i am fit and eat the same, facial hair, flare of Hashimotos, im not kidding you name it I've had it.
the one symptom i didnt have was the crazy periods. first mine simply got closer together but were normal. then i skipped one. then they were like 35-40 days apart but again normal. then last month got my period on day 40 and bled normal 4 days and then spotted for an additional 7 days and then i started bleeding heavy again for another 7 days. so 18 days of bleeding. my anxiety was through the roof. went to gyn and she did uterine biopsy which was normal. she said very typical in peri to have crazy periods. i am 48. i have never spotted in my life prior to this.
