Hi all

Im 40 years old and been having pain for justover a year. The pain is just under my right rib it comes and goes it lasts anywhere from a few seconds to 30 mins its also very tender, it like a burning stinging pain i also get this pain on eitherside of my belly button but not as often maybe 10 times in a day this is also tender i have lower back ache boating feeling sick most of the time never feel hungry but sometimeswakeup with a really bad hunger pain, my right leg from the knee down aso swells change in bowel movements also bladder control has gone a bit, anyway had a ct scan it showed bulky ovarys with several large cysys and that my gallbladder neck is deformed but then they are saying that this is not the cause ofmy symptoms and put me on amitriptyline for pain management im so confussed and they have sent me back to gps care .

Any advice

    Hello Lorraine,

    Been reading your symptoms. Really doesn't sound like gallstones. A gallstone attack is so critical and extremely painful it's hard to even take a small breath to breathe and the pain wraps around the chest to the shoulder blades. Very similar to a heart attack.

    I hope you keep in touch on the results of your recent blood tests and it's nothing serious. Stay positive!

      Hi hope

      I have had a couple of those attacks too thats why they took me into hospital in feb they thought it was my heart but had ecg and everything was fine then thats when he thought it was my gallbladder they never found any stones but my bile buct was enlarged.My dad had his gallbladder removed when he was about 40 to they cut him open right across his abdomen. I didnt here anything from the docs yesterday so think everything is ok regarding the dvt thank god xx

      Hi Lorraine delighted to hear everything is ok. You must be relieved. By the way I didn't get pain in my shoulder blades from the stone. It was a burning pain I had under my ribs and in my back. Was worse first thing in the morning and at night. Take care xx

      Yeh i am the doc phoned thismorning to say it was normal so releived. But

      I have just started my period this morning and its reallydark like a maroon and dark brown with nearly black small clots never had this before is this related to the cyst theres no cramping just ache in my lower back and been feeling really sick all morning take care xx

      Hi Lorraine yes definitely the cysts causing all that. Did you get the milk thistle yet? It should help you. Mine are a week late today which has never happened me before and I've terrible pains too. It's a mans world. X

      Hope your feeling better ace i got the milk thistle on friday took one with my tea and i was ill all night my head everytime i moved it felt like it was going to explode and felt really sick im gonna try taking another on wed when im off work did you have anything like that when you first took them xx

    Do not mess with this, get it out!!!!! I went through the same thing in May  of this year and I almost died of pancreatitis twice!! It landed me in the hospital for one month. Thye had to clean out common duct of stones and then take my gallbladder out. IV anitbiotics for fours weeks. Dilaudid 2MG every three hours for ten days straight. I'm telling you you can not take care of this pain meds, it will KILL YOU! Tell the docs to take it out!! Once out, you can eat just about everything. I went from 160 pounds down to 139 punds in hospital and here we are in August and I'm 175 pounds and 100% better. No pain, no where.

      Thanks greggjames im at the point now i just want them to take everything out ovaries and gallbladder i have a ultrasound on the 12th and im waiting for my ca-125 results so ill wait til i have them and see what they say but then if i get no joy i dont know what else i can do xx

      I just realized on the UK board and living here in the US we take much for granted. My bill to 100% well was in excess of $170,000.00 USD. My insurance paid for it and it's not obamacare.

      Thanks! I wish tyou the best. Many here fdon't realize that socialised medicine means waiting and waiting some more. hope it all gets sorted out ;-)

      Yes, my largest stone with 14 mm and a bunch left my gallbladder and got stuck in my common biule duct and that started he pancreatitis.

    Well all blood tests came back normal will the doc still reffer me to the gyn or will he leave it at that xx

      Hi Lorraine glad to hear blood tests all ok. Am sure your doctor will send you to a gynaecologist if you've cysts on your ovaries. If not insist he does as in my opinion they are a big part of your symptoms. The ultra sound will give a better picture of what's going on and if the gallbladder is inflamed or not although I would think that would have showed up on the cat scan. Let me know how the ultrasound goes. Good luck xx

      Just been to the docs again he done a vaginal exam and said i had red patches and some small cysts in my cervix so hes sending me to the gyno is that commen with ovarian cysts he didnt seem too conserned about it xx

      I don't know Lorraine. Never heard of that! I hope you get an appointment with the gynaecologist soon and finally get some answers. Hope your feeling a little better. Is your scan in a few days? X

      Ive been to work tonight and was getting really bad pains can only say they where like labour pains and was sick with them its the first time ive been sick with the pains do you get that xx

      Hi Lorraine sorry to hear this. Yes sounds like the same thing I've had. Pains and sickness. Did you vomit? You poor Thing. It's horrendous isn't it? Is you scan this week? X

      Hi ace yeh thought i was dieing yeh i did vomit the pain was in the bottom of my back and my whole abdomen and my stomach started to swell,the pain lasted for about 2 hours. My scans tomorrow morning the pains not as bad today but still feel really sick xx

      Hi Lorraine sorry to hear this happened to you. I'm not great myself. Got my period nearly 2 weeks late and have felt sick with the nausea ever since with pains in my ovary. Good luck with the scan. Let me know how you get on. X

      Hi ace i had my scan today they are reffering me to the surgeons he said i have a Adenomyoma in my gallbladder he said about 6 time not to worry its not cancerous so got to wait to see the surgeon see if he wants to take it out . Got an appointment thro for the gyno its not till 13 october xx

      You poor thing. Did they find many cyst too? When will you see the surgeon? Wonder is that what made you sick. At least you know now. God love you. X

      Thanks ace this scan was just for my gallbladder i think the gyno are going to look at the cysts he must of been more worried about my gallbladder thats all he looked at hope i dont wait too long to see the surgeon, ill let you know when i find out anymore, how you doing hope your feeling better take care xx

      Please God you wont be waiting long. I'm awake since 330 feeling sick and dry wretching and have horrendous pain in my ovary. Feel like I'm sitting on a knife. I now know this is definitely not from the gallbladder operation at all. This cyst is there since February and I've no doubt the cause of my sickness. Didn't have a period for 6 weeks and haven't had the nausea. Then I get my period and the nausea starts again. Unfortunately I just have to hope this goes soon as they don't operate because of my previous surgeries and it would be high risk. The fact it's a lot smaller hopefully means it will go itself soon.       Thanks for your kind words before and I'm sorry to hear you are feeling ill. Im due to have a hysterectomy in two and a half weeks, I'm having fairly regular right ovary pain too.

      Mine ranges from a dull ache and twinge to like someone is trying to twist it off! I've been having a burning and aching under my right armpit as well, like I'm fighting an infection or illness.

      I feel like I'm going a little crazy with the gall/rib plus the gyno.

      It will be telling if post hysterectomy other symptoms subside.

      If they cant operate have they given you other options with the cyst? They can't do keyhole even? Sorry, that probably seems a daft question., but surely the suffering you feel has to be addressed some way?

      I had one burst about ten years ago while I was at work and could barely walk such was the pain. My GP had said cysts generally self resolve but I didnt think it meant bursting!

      It's no joke being in pain like that, so I really do hope you feel better soon. My thoughts are with you.x

      Jaygf thank you for your kind words. I've never had a cyst before that I'm aware of. I was feeling better as the milk thistle seemed to have help it partially rupture. I just wish it had fully ruptured and not have to be living like this. The last time I felt sick was when I had my previous period which was 6 weeks ago. I feel terrible and have horrendous pressure and am finding it hard to sit down. My surgeon said that I have extensive adhesions so they can't do keyhole to remove the cyst and he said they would be Afraid of rupturing my bowel too so all I can do is hope it goes. The only positive is that it has reduced considerably which I'm hopeful means it will go itself soon. I'm crying all the time too and feel like my whole hormonal system is out of balance. I never knew a cyst could cause so many problems. This is going on since February now and of course they thought it was a reaction to the gallbladder being removed but told me they couldn't remove it anyway. I have no doubt it's the cyst all along and am starting to wonder if the gallbladder pain I had in November was actually the cyst as its been there since October last year but they never told me! Anyway I hope your operation goes well for you. Let me know how it goes and thanks again. Take care of yourself. X

      Hi ace sorry i havent posted in a whilehope your feeling better still waiting for an appointment for the surgeon but just wanted to ask if you have ever had this happen or know what it is. 3 days ago i got up and was feeling really ill about 12 i was standing and i felt a pop it felt like it was in my cervix made me jump and hurt abit after that, for the past 3 days ive been having pain in my right side my hip back and down my leg and feeling really dizzy and sick and had aconstant headache.

      Hi Lorraine it sounds like a ruptured cyst to me. They can cause a popping pain when they rupture and all the other symptoms you have. Unfortunately I started feeling sick last week and the same symptoms as you except the popping but bad period pains. Had a scan and the cyst that I thought was gone has grown really big with some calcification in it. The radiographer told me it was there last October when they found the stone and she said its most likely the cause of all my problems and not the gallbladder. So looks like I might have to have a major operation to have it removed. I had stopped the milk thistle and herbs 7 weeks ago after my last scan as it had reduced so much. I've started back on the herbs and milk thistle in the hope it will get rid of it while I'm waiting to see my gyneacologist on 6th October. My acupuncturist is hopeful she can get rid of it with herbs and acupuncture. It can take a few weeks for the symptoms you have to go away. You should go to the doctor and get another scan. I had a transvaginal scan which gives a better picture of what's going on. Take care x

      Im really sorry to ar that ace im gonna try and get an appointment to see the doc tomorrow theyve never done a scan on my cysts yet i have a gyno app on 6 october too im hoping they will do a transvaginal scan when i see them

      I give up docs are stupid went to see her this morninI told her what happened and asked could it be a ruptured cyst she said no you wouldnt feel it if it ruptured and gave me tablets for IBS im so annoyed I really thinking of going private I dont know what else to do x

      Hi Lorraine I'm sorry to hear this. What a stupid doctor! My doctor has told me if I get worse to go to a&e as ruptures can be dangerous and very painful! Are you still feeling sick? Unfortunately a lot of doctors diagnose Ibs for a lot of things! X

      I know yeh still feeling sick still got a headache and going really dizzy sometimes feel like im gonna pass out my back hip leg and groin area is aching too been having to take tramadol i might see how i am in the morning and go to the walkin center see what they say i have to go to work tonight X

      Well been to gyno today waste of time again said everything feels normal and sending me for physio for pelvic floor exersizes got a prlvic ultrasound appointment for the 30th so wait see what they find and still waiting for an appointment to come from the surgeon too how did you get on at the gyno today x

      Hi Lorraine am sorry to hear this. Hopefully the scan will show something up. How are you feeling? Well I was supposed to have blood tests before I saw the gynaecologist but had to wait until I got my period first as they testing my hormones on day 3 and day 21. Of course it decided not to come until Monday so had to put off appointment until I have the blood tests results back. Am a little relieved as I do not want any more surgery and my gp is telling me I'll have to have it removed and I'll probably loose the ovary. The acupuncturist has put me on herbs for cysts and I'm back taking the milk thistle. She said it would take 6-8 weeks to work so am praying it works!! Let me know how you get on with the Surgeon and scan. Take care xxx

      Hope everything works out for yor you ace, everytime i eat i feel like im going to be sick i finished my period yesteday went to the toilet tonight there was quitalot of bood on it checked to see if i was bleeding no blood had a number 2 toilet paper was covered so i am now bleeding from my bottom had a really bad head since yesterday left eye and left side of my neck is hurting pain in gallbladder has been really bad today too and i keep going really dizzy im a bit scared x

      Hi Lorraine. Am sorry to hear this. I'm not sure if passing blood would be connected to the gallbladder. I think you should contact your doctor immediately as that doesn't sound good at all. Let me know how you get on. Take care xxx
