Upped from 50 to 75, now my 7th day and I feel so down today,no motivation. I expected side effects but not as bad, is it always so? How long will this go on? Just completed 5 weeks in total on sertraline, help.

I increased from 100 -150 and went loopy! Turns out i couldnt tolerate that amount so now back down to 100mg. Defo feeling less loopy and more calm but I also feel quite down and emotional. Ive only been on the 100mg plus a beta blocker for a week so im hoping mood picks up. From reading on here it seems that anxiety improves first then mood comes later.

Sorry to hear how much you have been struggling with your meds recently. Just wondering if you have had any grief counselling as the medication alone might not be enough to help you through this period of depression and anxiety? You know you will always find encouragement, support and unconditional acceptance on this forum. Be strong and take one small step at a time. Do you have support among family and friends? I hope the drugs do start to make a difference soon. Then perhaps you can find the motivation within yourself to embrace each new day.
Good luck buddy! Keep in touch.

Yes, I lost weight on the Sertraline because I had ZERO appetite! I was ok with losing weight though, but I literally could not eat.
The Venaflaxaline seems to make me hungry at times so I do have to be careful of that.
Even so I will NEVER take Sertraline again.
