So fed up!!

I went last week for my yearly. One year after my total hysterectomy. Tell my Dr I've been feeling very depressed, anxiety is full blown, panic attacks, etc...

I've had the same gyno for 27 years mind you.

She tells me I should make an appt with my General practitioner as those are not really menopause related....wow! I was floored!

This was the Dr that sent me to the oncologist who said I should have the hysterectomy.

I'm so upset right now I can't even think straight.

That's definitely to me all menopausal!! If we all have the same issues and symptoms and all these Drs can say it's depression/anxiety ..go see psychiatrist!! I learned It all has to do flunctuating hormones. Everyone has of course more symptoms than others but I still think these Drs don't know much about menopause and it's frustrating ! Well I would do my own research and I've learned so much that these Drs can't even tell me. Good luck and get better! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 hopefully this will all pass soon!

I'm not sure if this helps but I am peri menopausal and have been suffering severe mood swings. From crying to terrible feelings of rage. It comes out of nowhere and anything will set it off. I feel ok today but yesterday questioned if I would make it through the day. I know its my hormones. I can feel it but doesn't make it any easier to cope with when its happening.

    Hope that helps a little.

How old are you Lotti? Do you mean you just started with these symptoms a year after your hysterectomy or has it been going on for a while. It certainly sounds hormonal but I was just wondering about the timing of it all......??

      Hi Lisk,

It started before the surgery. I had been Peri for about 3 years. Escalated horrendously about 8 weeks after the surgery.

I've been battling it for so long. I was hoping it would all even out. Not so far.

PS. Doctors are really hopeless with this stuff, they only know how to push another drug on you....

Unbelievable! I can understand why you're upset. I have all the above like many other menopausal women and i didnt have it for the 47 years leading up to meno, so its probably caused by the meno! It is frightening how little some 'specialists' know. Go see your doctor who will help you. Im on HRT patches, antidepressants for anxiety and betablockers for palps/ racing heart and am starting to feel better more of the time. My BP has always been great, till the meno! Good luck hun and go get the help you deserve.

      Hi Julie,

That's another thing. My blood pressure has been low my whole life. Around 107/60.

Ever since my surgery it's been running high. 150's over 80's. They said that's still not that horrendous for menopause but for me it is.

Doctors are wrong every day and know very little when it comes to menopause and anxiety!! Mine told me it couldn't be my hormones causing anxiety !! I'm 50 and in full blown menopause . So frustrating and no longer my doctor. B vitamins can cause panic attacks so beware. Get a therapist and be your own advocate and don't let anyone lie to you. Stay strong until you find the good ones who want to help. There are plenty of things to help. Good luck

I'm glad you told me about the B vitamins! A lady at work suggested them
