Still the same as I was about 6 weeks ago when I wrote. Still blood and mucus not every time but as I go to toilet at least 5 times in the day....Is this the prob? Mostly very loose stools. Take Hemp Oil now. Probiotics since Jan. And Turmeric. Pains down front of leg. Such a back ache. And just so depressed . Dodgy knee keeps letting me down. Joints hurt all the time. 😢 I've had colonscopy last Dec. Yes Diverticulitis. Cannot take anymore antibiotics.give me headache and more upset tummy.

Are you watching what you eat? I was on the soft diet for 2 years. Remember what goes in has to come out.

Hello Gloria, this sounds exactly how I was over my last two flare ups. I too bled for at least for 6 weeks with mucus ,and constantly going to the toilet,on my last flare up I managed to get to doctors ,who unbelievably told me to stick it out for 6 weeks and it should get better and stop ! and it did , I can’t explain it ! I have had a colonoscopy which confirmed Diverticulitis and I do watch what I eat,I haven’t had a flare up for 8 months so fingers crossed I don’t have another 6 weeks of misery and pain for a long time yet.i hope you too start to feel well soon.x

Do any of you sufferers eat pasta? When I had my very first episode of diverticulitis, I genuinely thought my number was up! It was horrific and frightening. Never wanting to experience the pain, bleeding, sweats, rapid heart beat and loss of vision, ever again. I read up on his other sufferers coped. Quite a few mentioned eating pasta and vegetables, courgettes, broccoli, mushrooms, peppers etc. For me this has worked amazingly. Since the official diagnosis some years ago, I've eaten pasta based meals at least 3 to 4 times a week. Believe me, when I've fallen by the wayside, the rumblings start - thankfully no where near what they had been - so I know what to do to sort it.

Whilst it works for me I realise it's not for everyone. But if you haven't tried it for any length of time, it might be worth a go. I also eat rice, fresh salmon, chicken, hardly any red meat (a couple of times a year at most) and lots of veg - spinach especially - and tomatoes. It takes some tweaking to get the balance which suits, but has paid dividends for me. I take one sachet of macrogol daily which also helps matters.

So sorry you are having such an horrendous time. Unless someone experiences this debilitating illness, it's hard for them to grasp the effect it has on our well-being and day to day living. Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to hear about your hard time..a few suggestions for you:

    1) Eat low residue diet(low fiber), soft foods like eggs, white rice, pasta and properly prepared veggies(soft w/no skin) all good..limit red meats and sugars. 2) keep well hydrated with water(avoid sugary drinks) 3) take aloe extract as directed 1 or 2 times a day or try a supplement like 'Gut Restore' avail direct or Amazon 1 time a day. 4) light exercise like walking is very beneficial in many ways 5) Prayer- connect with our Holy Father through our Saviour and one and only intercessor Jesus Christ and he will give you peace that surpasses all understanding.

May God Bless you and give you peace in the name of Jesus

i am so sorry for you gloria.  I have diverticulosis and in the hospital now.  This is my 6th time in 2 years.  seems that i bleed every 4 month now and have had 4 transfusions over that time.  How does hemp oil work and tumeric . I get depressed too each time I bleed wondering when or if this is ever going to stop.  how do you deal with your depression if you even can.  What you have sounds terrible.  Keep fighting it.  What do the doctors say.  try different doctors.  I wish you well.

Thank you sigmoid. I don't know but each day I think this has to be better? My knees and back are so painful I don't know if I have pain with DD? The cannabis oil is supposed to help with your overall well being. And the turmeric for joints....but I don't know? But thanks.
